Grr! For real consumer revenge you could always try Open Office instead..
Are you talking about having a Twitter account to promote your website? If so I've got some good tips from our marketing dept about using it as a promotional tool.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Sorry KC but its only Microsoft you can get mad at. They are trial versions on all machines.
Open office is free and fully compatible so you wouldn't have any problems using it.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.

what a lot of work you have done there KC. I have been webmaster for work before but I would have no idea where to start with setting one up. Something that I will need to think about over the coming year. I have decided though to stop running and start taking babysteps, one at a time. I might need help over the other side when the time is right but in the meantime will follow you carefully.
Open office sounds interesting. Can that be used on macbooks? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

I did instal Open Office in the end
and I attached an Open Office document and sent it to my non-techy partner (we send our info to prospective clients by email mostly, these days) and he couldn't open it, he got a message saying that his computer could go online and find the software.... so I may still give Word 2000 a go.youareallhelpingme wrote: »Sorry KC but its only Microsoft you can get mad at. :o:o I know, I suppose I know, but I hate the whole industrial complex thing where the firms pretend they're trying to help the consumer but they're really after the big profits for their shareholders - I wish they'd be honest about it, I suppose. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hiya! Squizz has answered your question, just above me - thank you for the compliment, Cheri! Its really pulling my accounts together, most of them already existed, its just the sense of having them all pulling together to create something new - thats quite exciting :j lots of work to do tho - my Linked In account has *no* information about me at all. But at least I know what I want to focus on now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That is half of the battle I think. Once you know where to focus the effort it kind of just happens. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I think if your partner saves the document then instead of double clicking to open, they would right click and select open with the select Microsoft Word.
Its the same if someone sends you a document written on Works, you can open with the other programs but you have to tell it which one.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

You have to save your documents in Word format in order for Word to read it. This is because Word is "special"...
You can install a import filter into Word so it can read proper files, and make it a little less "special", but that may be beyond your partner.

If you want them to be helpful to the consumer, then stop buying stuff from them until they are. Shareholders do not pay the bills..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
