I've always had problems with 'blonde' type hair colours as they have a lot of red in them, and my natural colour is 'mouse' which has a lot of red in it.
I used to have my hair done by my cousin, a hairdresser, and she decided to add some copper to my hair for 'lift' - after 5 minutes she checked it and the look of horror on her face was a picture!

I didn't see this post earlier, sorry - I havent done the blonde thing, don't worry - it looks like its brown thats starting to go grey, instead of grey hair with a bit of brown underneath

Do you remember someone called Phyllis in Corrie from years ago? She used to have purple hair? Well imagine her with red  it was bright red, and although my cousin said it suited my skin tone, it deffo didn't suit my personality. I'd have to have a lifestyle and wardrobe change to carry it off.
I never watched Corrie :o but I know exactly what you mean - thats why I haven't used henna.

Since then I've stuck to wash in wash out colours!

You seem to be getting loads done.

I love stationery, I have to resist buying packets of pencils and folders.
I do seem to be getting a lot done, its true - thing is, there's an awful lot of jobs laying around half finished. Insurance, Denplan, the new printer, the bed complaint, the NHS complaint, French bill payments, the new phone, learning a few Polish words, have all got to be done next week. I'd like to fix a clothesline and get the water heating fixed (I'm using the immersion at the moment) but I don't think there'll be time on top of everything else ...

I do, Cheri, I do - my official *real* age is a lot older than 42, so feeling 42 is wonderful!

Feeling a 42 year old is always good for the soul ;)

Have I missed something, why do you need polish words by the end of the week, is it to do with the wedding or did you book a trip to Prague?

  • Well done on finally doing the colour. I can't not have a colour of some sort - think of the most vivd reds in the shops at the mo and that is my current shade, did do blonde for a while but it really aged me.

You are getting through loads of "stuff", good luck with learning Polish

The answer to the universe, you see. With brown(ish) hair, I look 42 if you don't look at the neck and the arms :D:D:D

I had no idea how much this would affect me - it was h*ll's own job to do, mind, I should've brushed my hair upside down before I put the stuff on. And I suspect its a wee bit patchy at the back :p but next week, I'm off to the big health food store in the next town that sells Herbatint, which is organic - with all the skin cancer in my family, I'm not using ordinary hair dye *regularly*. And this will be regular, make no mistake :D:D:D

I'm a very, very happy camper, I surprised myself by having a tiny little sniffle at one stage :o

Hey 42 year old girl - great it all worked!!

Can you put a link up to that herbal hair gunk :)

    Waved hello to all!

    :)

There are several ways to take that :j Michael Shanks is only 40, btw :D

Yes it is - the bride is Polish, and her mum and dad don't speak English. I'm just an auntie, but I'd like to show welcome.

Wow the hair sounds good. And 42 is of course the answer.. ;)

I think there's a basic Polish guide on the BBC website - I tried to learn a bit before I went there but have forgotten it all now :o

    Have a good day :)

Thanks cheri! Hi Squizz, hope you had a good weekend. Yep, I've been looking all over for a guide, resorted to getting a phrasebook out of the library, and then discovered - via FW? - the BBC Learning website :o which is absolutely the kind of thing I need.

At the moment, I'm driving myself a *little* bit crazy multitasking. Typing on here, I've been listening to a Brian Tracy mp3 (the eat the frog guy, mp3 is free when you sign up to his website, and it must be an hour long) the washing machine is on, I'm printing pdfs downstairs for the instructions for the cooker and the food processor (neither of them have them), plus I'm in the middle of tidying and writing out the French bill payments I need to make. Once they're over, they're over, these tasks :D

2 hours paid work today - I had a cancellation and a postponement - so I aim to get out into the garden and do some tidying up later on, when the sun's hit the peak and gone down again. Before then, tho, I *must* do some vacuuming, and even wipe down a bit of paintwork - I accidentally threw a cold cup of tea all over a door next to the therapy room :rotfl:and it looks quite a sight :rotfl:

I think thats enough for one day. I'm tired already :cool:

Lots going on today. I have a big toad bouncing around my office never mind a frog. Cant catch it to eat so now just sitting looking out of the window at the sheep. Several papers need to be written for work today but I am struggling to motivate myself.
