Well, trading signals not happening so far .... I thought they would, yesterday being such a quiet day, but hey ho. Some news is out at 9.30, so thats a no-no for me. Got to finish my French accounts today, and prep my counselling room (yes, I know I said I wouldn't do that in the morning, but I was tired.... sob :) ) I was actually in bed before 11pm last night, which for me is amazing.

I'm struggling with dentists, which is an ongoing saga *so* boring I can't bear to write it down. And I've decided, a la Tim Ferriss on FW's thread, to lessen the flow of unimportant information, which is one of the first steps in freeing up time and therefore money.

Morning.. what does lessening the flow of unimportant information entail? It sounds like a good thing anyway :)

To be honest, I'm not sure - probably getting rid of magazine subscriptions we don't read .... I know that when I go to London, I pick up freebie newspapers, and often only read two pages of one of them... I have lots of newsletter email subscriptions I don't read .... I watch the news channel when I sit down with a cuppa tea instead of going out into the garden .... I'm sure that he'd refer to outsourcing (getting an online PA from India to do stuff at five dollars an hour), that sort of thing. Definitely a sense of clearing the decks - I'm sure getting rid of books we don't read counts in there somewhere!

The email subscriptions is definitely a good angle - I've been trying to do that lately so I don't have to trawl through a hundred emails every morning of which only about five I actually want to read!

Exactly! I think that wastes a lot of time, and we don't realise it. And think of all those books I had, that I got rid of - I bought them in the first place, I bought somewhere to store them, then I went through all the faff of selling them or carting them to charity shops .... makes you think!

Did some baby steps with this - just via the e-mail route - have unsubscribed to all the junk that kept arriving every morning & not missed it at all - reduced e-mail time from 60mins to 15mins & now spend the other 45mins communicating with friends and planning and ploting the day/week out - it's amazing how much happier I feel having a bit more 'me' time.:)

KC if you really need this sort of service, my hand is up & I'm closer to home! - lol

BTW it is ***fabulous*** that you are gradually going forward with the trading! Baby steps and all! It's just brilliant that you can get your mind round it - had a peak at an on-line service with the bank 'over the pond' so now have a little teeny weeny idea of what you are doing - just amazing!

Hi KC, I'm loving the energy on your diary - you're very much out of hibernation and in Spring mode :T
I also feel guilty at the waste of magazines. I don't buy them often, but like a particular weekly with an Italian title. It takes me a few minutes to flick through, look at the fashion scan the "cleb" gossip and then - toss it in the recycling.....not good.

My guilty pleasure is reading showbiz goss, so now I get it from the younger girls at work and read the Daily Mail website (:o:o:o)

    Enjoy your trip to London!

Can totally go with lessening the flow of unimportant information....I too unsubscribed from loads of news letters a couple of weeks ago and it's made a massive difference.
I also think decluttering the house frees up time as well as sorting post and accounts on a daily basis ...this is my aim.
decluttering the house means I don't have to move it to clean it.

the day out with Wol sounds like it would be fun and make money

I second loving the energy on here.

I too have been having a great declutter. Today I emptied 3 boxes (from my storage) and put the contents in my study, cleared 4 shelves of the bookshelf and had a cull on my books so 2 boxes in the boot for the charity shop tomorrow. I agree with the flow of useless information. To that end I just sacked over 20 people and like pages from my facebook. How free I feel already and more to come. Thanks for the motivation. FWs thread is great too.
