Yep! I set my alarm every 15 minutes, at 10 to, 5 past, 20 past and 35 past (which is why its *really* hard to do it every time) - it gives me time to work out what to do on the quarter hour.

Taking breaks away from the computer is tough - I don't think I'll do it for every break, but certainly for some.

One thing I've been doing, thats sort of away but still at my desk :D is looking at postage stamps - I used to buy first day covers, which mostly seem to go down like a lead balloon on ebay, but I also have a few books of stamps that are simply unused, and some are recent enough to say "1st", not give the price amount. Since they stay unsold on ebay at 99p for a dozen or so, its actually better to use them.... but I'll try to sell the first day covers on free listing days, gradually, I think - better than having them clutter up the house.

The **stuff** I've still got :eek::eek:

Dearie me there's been a lot of housework talk on this thread! Last time I tried to hoover the stairs I nearly fell down them (hoover is too heavy!) so I'm not doing that again - ha! :D

Ugh - will people please STOP it with the "H" word?!! Definitely go down the Safety First route with hoovering stairs though Squizz - sounds far too dangerous to risk! :D

KC if your stamps are simply ordinary first class ones, with the 1st in the corner as you say, you know they can just be used as "normal" first class stamps in spite of the age of them, don't you? We found a book of orange ones kicking about here a while ago and are using those at the moment....goodness knows how old they are, but I get a distinct warm MSE feeling whenever I stick on on an envelope! :D

I am sad, I actually LIKE cleaning the stairs. It used to be my "job" as a wee girl. I had to get a stiff handbrush, start at the top and brush all the way down. I still do that to this day. There is something rather satisfying about it I find.

Do you have to keep re-setting your alarm? I mean, can you set it for a number of different times so you don't have to fiddle about with it? Mind you, I'm not sure if you want it set to those times every day? Might be worth having a look at alarm on your mobile as some let you set it for the same time on every weekday or every Tuesday etc etc... *rambling* :)

I'm totally with EH on this :D

Thanks EH - I'd heard that, but wasn't quite sure if it was just wishful thinking ... if you're doing it, tho, I will - I might try ebay for a higher price first, but it would have to be appreciable to make it worth my while :D

Thanks mumsy! How nice to see you - hope you can stick around to play, I *promise* we don't often talk about housework :)

Cheri, you're letting the side down :rotfl: I loathe and detest all forms of maintenance in the shape of housework. And people were mentioning brushing the stairs earlier - me, thats a surefire way to set off my dust allergy, I *truly* couldn't do it that way. Honest.

Right. Somebody in Mid Sussex something is sending me a booklet of adult ed courses that are run in the local school :j and for the rest of today, I have to pack that Amazon parcel (hooray, less stuff and less packaging in the house :j), scan things so I can send off my French accounts, I *must* do that today or tomorrow, various bits like that. Amazon parcel first tho, I've done the packing slip.

    Later dudes :D:D:D

    Its the summer-looking weather, I swear :p

    Hi KC

Well done on getting out into the garden....I haven;t managed it yet apart from to snip a few bits of grass for their piggies.

Re the first Day covers - I have a collection too (plus albums of mint Biritsh commemoratives) Late last year I booked an appointment with StanleyGibbons in Central London to get a valuation done with a view to putting them in one of their auctions - but I had to cancel it at short notice so need to re-book.........fancy a joint trip?

I did think about my mobile, Squizz, honestly - there are 4 alarms on there per day, so I could do it every hour. But then I'd have to remember to reset them all every hour - on balance, I think its easier to reset every time, rather than sometimes I reset, sometimes I don't. My new mobile might be different ...

Ooh.... I just checked their website, and the fee is only £5! Well worth it for a day together on the loose in London (all right, sitting in an office of stamp collectors :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:). We could be on the loose afterwards :j:j:j

In other words - yes, I fancy it like anything :j
