Okay, I can't leave it there :rotfl: chaos and catastrophe has ensued :rotfl: because I'm such a !!!!!!.

The vacuum cleaner was sick  well, the bag was sick *inside* the vacuum cleaner  because I didn't clean the filter. The HEPA filter. So I ended up *covered* in dust and the stairs are filthy (tho the dust is so fine, you can't see it ).

Another note to self: when you empty the vacuum cleaner, remember to look at the filter.

I wonder if thats what was always wrong with my late lamented (demented? :rotfl:) Dyson?

Oh dear, Dyson's are the easiest of hoovers to clean:D

You can even pay for them to come out and service them and they give you freebies as well..may time to dust off the old Dyson( after repair) and see if you can then be a two hoover girl..leave one upstairs and one downstairs, then there is no humping of heavy hoovers;) The stairs well i prefer to get a damp cloth and use that, gets up far more dirt than the hoover and the carpet comes up lovely..i am just sad i know:o:rotfl:

Bob - can I hire you to do my stairs? I'm KC's slatternly sister, my house is a mess, especially the stairs.....I have doing them, so consequently only do them when they're toe deep in dust ;)

KC - made me laugh about the hoover. We have a Miele (I can't get on with Dyson's, don't like seeing the stuff inside) and its really good, has lasted me for years, but I went on holiday and forgot to check bag before I went. DS was being good and hoovering, especially as I went at New Year and he had to take the xmas tree down, and he kept on hoovering even when it screamed at him, until eventually the bag exploded!

You mean you have to hoover stairs , I'm a fan of getting the yard brush and starting at the top brush each step, as I walk down them.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Those are the best kind of stair carpet to do Kittikens, as you go along with a cloth it is so satisfying to see all the muck roll down onto the next step...

I'll shut up now, before i get excited at the thought of a lovely stair carpet..
