I wasn't offended at all. I never thought you thought I was a failure. I was just trying to help you not to think of yourself as a failure. The whole misunderstanding was worth it, though, just to see that priceless sentence of yours that I've bolded above. :D

For good measure, good luck to anybody lucky enough (or wise enough) to have started their journey in time to be MF by 40, and good luck to all of us oldies who are going to be MF sooner than we would have been because of this board, regardless of the actual age number.

I always aim to please with my creative use of the English language!:rotfl:

    Glad I didn't offend anyone!

OK, so we got under the 10,000s for less than a month.

On Saturday we will be adding £18,500 to that figure:eek::eek: We didn't buy a Kia though!

A Santa Fe, going to call it 'The Beast', think we got a really good deal on it, used my negotiating skills until the sales man was nearly in tears! Managed to get a decent price for hubbies car in px, a dog guard and mats for free and a further £2,110 off the list price. Garage had two (unregistered ones) in stock and there is a new model coming out in the next few months……..all good for negotiations! :money:

Has a five year warrenty, not as good as the Kia 7 year one, but the kia sales man was a pillock and there is a 4/5 month waiting list.:rotfl:

Had no intention of actually buying a car yesterday, just looking, if we had thought about it we might have hoovered the dog hairs out of hubbys car:rotfl:.

We pick 'The Beast' up on Saturday. Hubbys sorted insurance today, had to pay an extra £66 which includes 2,000 more miles per annum and the £35 admin fee for changing the insurance details:eek:

Need to sort out GAP insurance now..think we can get 4 years cover for about £300.

We also need to look into buying a boot buddy (if you haven't got a clue what i'm on about google them, they are fab), I have one in my car already and its a god send against mud and hairs from the dog.

  • Gap insurance sorted through a recommendation on here, company called 'ala'. £255 premium for 4 years cover with 10% topcashback so total = £229.50. Pleased with that as I bought my GAP insurace through the dealer two years ago, 3 years cover cost me about £400 for a much cheaper car:eek:. Ah well, we live n learn.

  • Thought after this weekends spendy time, I would have a no spend day. Hmmm, surprise surprise that hasn't happened. Bought the Boot Buddy for 'The Beast' with a non slip mat and a protector for the bumper.....thats another £150 gone.. I'm sure it is money well spent, as it will protect the boot against the naughty dogs hairs and claws. (I'm getting good at this justifying spending milarky!):rotfl:

DH better like 'The Beast' when he gets it!! I asked him yesterday if he was excited/nervous, he said 'no not really'. Blooming ek, he should be nervous about the amount of money spent and excited about having a new car for the first time in his life. Personally I would be pooping my pants about driving a new car incase I dented it:o

Have sorted out the funds, so will be able to pay the garage...which is always helpful:rotfl: I am not looking forward to putting up our new figures for October:o. Oh well we got in to the 9,000's for a few weeks.

    What!!!!!!!!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
