Ssshhhhhh, theres been no car talk today (so far!)
No alcohol again tonight, although I must confess I did have wine last night:eek:Only took me a week and half to cheat!!:o
On a more positive note I sold some [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE]lovely unwanted items on the works website and got £50:j
Cooked tea again tonight and me and DH have both taken our lunch to work everyday this week..I feel we are getting back on track:j(except for the car of course:o). The only trouble with all this cooking is all the washing up it generates.
Last night I even peeled and stewed a load of cooking apples someone bought into work:A (actually I must say hubby helped with the peeling)

TPA,
There is life beyond 40 even if you are not MF. I didn't even begin on this mortgage until I was over 40, so if MF by 40 is the measure of success, then I've failed far more spectacularly than you.
Enjoy the car. Don't let the detour put you off your MFW journey, but carry on from where you find yourself.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Certainly not a measure of success, however it was more of an impossible challenge that at the begining we never really thought we could achieve. When we first thought about becoming MF we thought we might be able to do it by the time DH was 40 (09/14). 40 is just a number, but a significant birthday so always seems a good place to start. Always good to have something to aim for.

PS You mean there really is a life after 40:rotfl:. I always used to think 30 was old..until I got there, now I think 80 is old, all the other numbers are just a means of getting there!:p

Thanks. Reading your reply, I wonder if you thought my post was sad and that I thought I was a failure, and perhaps you are trying to encourage me. It's OK. I'm fine. I know 40 is just a number - I was just trying to encourage you to see it as just a number too.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

No, I thought you thought I thought anyone that isn't MF by 40 is a failure! God does that even make sense:rotfl:
What I mean is I thought I had offended you, when really we all have our own goals (mine normally set to fail!) dependent on our own circumstances, I (with the help of DH) have decided to ruin our own chances:eek: having said that, since the poor valuation on DH car things have gone very quiet!

OK, so we got under the 10,000s for less than a month.
On Saturday we will be adding £18,500 to that figure:eek::eek: We didn't buy a Kia though!

I wasn't offended at all. I never thought you thought I was a failure. I was just trying to help you not to think of yourself as a failure. The whole misunderstanding was worth it, though, just to see that priceless sentence of yours that I've bolded above.
For good measure, good luck to anybody lucky enough (or wise enough) to have started their journey in time to be MF by 40, and good luck to all of us oldies who are going to be MF sooner than we would have been because of this board, regardless of the actual age number. :beer:Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
