Dear me, what were the rest of you thinking??? Of course it’s a four legged one! Cha knows me so well!
A friend of a friend has a lab, a very fat lab:eek:. Family love it dearly but do not have the time to walk it. As much as they love it, this is cruel. We are going to try and do an introduction this weekend between the lab and our monster. Will see how we go from there. This is something we have hummed and hared about for years, we have had our little monster almost four years. We would love him to have a pal but we will see how thing work out. We have been told that we could have him on a trial bases and see how it goes. Obviously if we take him in we want to do the right thing and keep him.
Feeding and vet fees for two will obviously be more; however as far as day to day things go I do not think it will be too much more work. Our monster is already walked at least twice daily.....whether we walk one or two it takes the same time. She says, trying to convince herself.
We may get a large kennel with a run for them both to go in during the day whilst we are in work...this is where the expense comes in, a decent one starts at about £500 going up to £1,500:eek:
But, of course we have (or will have on Saturday) a car with a big enough boot to take both of them on a journey!

PS, even with two it's got to be cheaper than having children...surely?!MFW - We've only gone and blooming done it!May 2013:j0 -
You know full well what the rest of them would be thinking. I was looking for the white writing myself but it didn't appear. :rotfl:
I think overall, it might be slightly cheaper than children, and probably less mess, unless they are clever pooches and can play with lego models like my two.
You are a softie. Labs are lovely, but I guess just be careful as he might have other health problems if he is really overweight like my cat did. Although, his was not helped by him being disabled and his kidney problems, and was certainly not from overfeeding.
Shouldn't be too much more work unless they don't get on. I hope we will see a piccie or two?0 -
Two hounds can't possibly be any more expensive than children.

Ops, I was, I really must update my sig. Hubby has bought a car, we collect it tomorrow, meaning we will not be able to reach 'MFdom' for another year or so:o
BTW, the 4 legged extra is a no go, we met up tonight, our little doggy is far too naughty, kept winding up other doggy, to which he took great offence and tried on numerous occassions to eat ours!! Oh well, a second dog is still on the cards, but sadly the fat lab is a no go:(

Aw that's a shameA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Mortgage Balance = £0

That is a shame as it seems like the fat lab needs someone badly. You tried hon.
I was trying to talk DH into letting me have one of the chihuahuas from my mum's litter again last night, but he is not listening to me.I think it might be the first time he has ever not let me get my own way. :rotfl:I've got till the 4th of October to persuade him.

Must have been shock at spending so much?
I have been working on it, but unfortunately the kids are ganging up against me too, as they know the pups have chewed some of their cousins toys.I'm not 100% convinced it is the right time, or I would just do it, and they would all come home and find it.
DH tells me I can have it if my mum takes Mr T vouchers.0 -
