Unfortunately it seems all the recent deals for this printer have expired; it's shot up from ~£40-50 to ~£80-90.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW I see epsom has some really cheap cartrages, thankyouTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
There are a few good deals about at the moment, here are a few I've found:
Comet - Epson SX425 - £47.99/£49.99 (dependent on how you buy it, same dpi as 515W) - Here
Viking Direct (on HotUKdeals) - Epson SX515W - £45.99 - Here
Currys - Advent AW10 - £29.99 - Here
Currys - HP Photosmart e-All-in-One - £37.99 - Here
Hope this helps!0 -

Check the ink availability for the SX425

We recently bought this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6705158/Trail/searchtext%3EKODAK+PRINTER.htm. £60 at the mo.
Seems ok so far and the scanning/copying function is really simple to use. We had a lexmark before and this Kodak one is so much better - seriously - don't stick with Lexmark the ink is sooooo expensive. Kodak are pretty cheap £6.79 for a black cartridge - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6754707/Trail/searchtext%3EKODAK+PRINTER.htm.0 -

thanks I am beginning to realise lexmark is not good on the cost for cartragies. your comments about kodak sounds interesting, but i am leaning more now to epsomTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
I've seen the ads which state Kodak are cheaper for cartridges then any other brand, but does anyone know if they last as long? (the cartridges?)
My mum had several Epsons which broke down for various reasons, you can't refill the cartridges and have the printer work and they had design flaws which resulted in ink leaking inside the machine (didn't affect the printing itself) it was this that broke the machine. Now she's finished the cartridges she stockpiled I doubt she will get a replacement of the same brand- they seem intent on getting your money and charge way to much for what is a time-bomb for anyones purse!
I have seen you can buy refill ink for printers but does anyone know which printers you can use these with as most have the ability to know when the ink has been refilled and not replaced with the same cartridge brand, preventing you doing anything other then paying over the odds.
Also, does anyone know of the best printer to use if you rarely print anything? I don't own a printer as in the past the inks just dried up as I only needed it maybe 2-3 times a month if that. I now would like a printer as I can see coupons and print outs I need to save money but the cost of a printer and having to pay for ink to dry up sort of outweighs any coupons and offers I'd get if I have to keep replacing them so often just because they dry out!0 -
I have an HP 1410, using 21 & 22 ink cartridges. Sometimes the printer is unused for 2 or 3 weeks, but no trouble with ink drying, partly because the head is incorporated with the cartridge?
I had a good Cannon printer, but after using a "compatible" ink cartridge, it refused to print anything except the test sheet (which was OK).
Coincidence? - I don't know, but am now sticking with original equipment and have had no more printer troubles.:)0 -

thanks for your response alan, not sure if you saw the original response, but I want to purchase a new all in one, and buy refillable carridges. There is no way I can afford original cartragies. My lexmar has broken down, and I was convinced on purchasing a replacement Lexmark. the original ink cartrides are usually about £17.00, but when refilled, can be £9.00 and you wont notice the difference. I have heard of other printers not working when cartridges are refilled, which i why I am being deadly careful.
I am now considering epsom, I want a good quality produc, to print and copy, which has dead cheap refills. Hoping to get one in the salesTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Have ordered refillable set for a PX650, they have auto reset chips.
6 X 100ml of ink is £11:45, which should give the equivalent of 15.38 refills using the Epson figure of 6.5ml per cartridge, or 7.79 refills for the usual 13ml in most compatibles = to 25 pence per cartridge0
