Have ordered refillable set for a PX650, they have auto reset chips.
6 X 100ml of ink is £11:45, which should give the equivalent of 15.38 refills using the Epson figure of 6.5ml per cartridge, or 7.79 refills for the usual 13ml in most compatibles = to 25 pence per cartridge
thanks, where did you get the refillables?Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
Here,

Reckon the mathematics was reasonable so combined with photo paper from here, photos are an bit more affordable

I am glad i have found this thread as i am after a new all in one too, thing is can anyone reccomend the best for new cartridges? they can be as expensive as a new printer! I would like to not have to buy"compatible" ones as i dont think you cant beat OEM for quality, unless anyone can tell, me different?

Epson Printers have the better capability for compatibles, and compare favourably when buying genuine ones.
I have them from the R200 to the R2880 and compatibles have yet to make a difference, currently I have two PX800FW, one with genuine and one with compatibles, still no difference to the output. Possibly using the best photo options in the printer settings helps.
They were set to Photo RPM (max dpi) but for something to do I printed three images, using Photo RPM, then Photo, then draft and the quality is imperceptible, though the change in speed is remarkable between Photo RPM and draft.
Another consideration is the paper used, maybe that makes a difference, someone did post in another thread that cheaper papers have a lot of dust which can clog the printer mechanism.
A box of compatibles will cost around £5 so you could try them and if you do not like the results it has not cost much to find out, however, if like me you cannot see any difference in the quality of the output, the long term savings can be enough to pay for the printer and any paper you use.0 -
ok, well I have decided to get a epsom. I am liking the Epsom SX415.
I have reserved this model from the argos website:
ww.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6704771/Trail/searchtext%3EPRINTER.htm
seems to be a good buy. Overall satisfaction is good, and not bad on the wallet (£75.00 down to £40.00)
just a few more questions:
1) is this modole any good?
2) Does the colour cartage come in single colours or as one?
3) refills, and cheapest and where?Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
