Wow you must be sooooooo fit not to get out of breath or sweat!! (Even the girls doing it sweat!!). What kind of weights do you use my dear? I'm guessing you're already using 3lb weights? I've not done zumba before as there are no local classes that fit in with my working hours but I would love to, it looks so much fun!

They suggest ten days one each level but it sounds like level one isn't challenging you, so I would suggest going onto level two right away :)

Can't remember if I'm on day 8/9/10 today lol :o My knees are really sore now, I think from the lunges in the last circuit, as I really struggle with this one with weights, my arms go to jelly and I think I'm struggling to multi-task sticking my bum out for the lunges with lifting the weights, and am putting too much weight on my knees :o So I altered it slightly tonight, and did more squats with the same weight movements. My knees are still hurting but hopefully this will improve in the next few days. :)

    Hello,

Have finally opened the cellophene wrapper and done day 1 of the shred.

Didn't find it too bad actually. I do 2-3 zumba classes a week, and bike every day to work. So my fitness has definately improved since when I started on my diet in January.

Am just hoping I don't ache in the morning and it isn't fooling me.

How long do you normally leave it til going on the level 2??

I wasn't out of breath or sweating or anything. Some of the weights exercises defo did stretch me a little. But I mostly managed to keep up with all the repetitions.

Watch me be as stiff and achy in the morning now!! :o

    Hey Tiara

I am feeling it in my knees too, but then I am an old has_been anyway and they are worn out! :p

I have taken to using (don't laugh or think rude thoughts!!!) a cushion for my knees when I am performing *ahem * the PUSH UPS!! This helps while I am doing them but the following day I feel it again! I also think the side lunges are the hard one to get right, pushing bottom out or bending knees and raising weights all at the same time ... now that IS multi tasking at its best! Ah well, keep going! 2 people have told me I have losts loads of weight ... wait for it ... on my FACE!!!!!!!!!!!! Well that wasnt in the plan! :rotfl::rotfl:

    Oh well! :o

Hey, less of the old and less of the has-been please missus :mad:

I am going to pinch your idea of using a cushion for my knees on the push ups just in case that is hurting them as well. The side lunges are a nightmare, I can't multi-task whatsoever so I have no chance of getting that one right :o Last time I tried the Shred I ended up hurting my knees and my ankle to the extent that I had to stop as it was so painful and I was worried I was going to do some damage. Don't want a repeat of that :)

Maybe they noticed the weight from your face because your face is the first thing they look at. It's not like you did a before and after parade in a leotard for them to analyse your weight loss :p (or did you? :rotfl:) Sadly though I think weight often goes from the face first. Even sadlier, the hips are one of the hardest places to get it off, which is a tad annoying as that is where I need to lose it the most :(

I really struggled today. I slept really badly and was exhausted when I got up. I didn't have the energy to do it before work, but have managed to get motivated enough to do it just now. I was scared at the thought of having to message you to tell you I had chickened out lol, so thank you for scaring me into doing it :rotfl:

Aching a lot less today but been up since half five and not back till late tonight so going to have to miss today.
My weight loss also showing on face but did some measurements two nights ago and also lost an inch around hips so must be doing something good. Think that motivation going well too but does so help that all doing this together.

I've just been to weigh my weights as they didn't say on them how much they were! How sad?! :rotfl: But they weigh 6lbs, so 3lbs each.

I am a little achy this morning, but no more than I would be from zumba really. I do a double zumba class on a tuesday, so I am normally quite achy on a weds morning, and it only feels like the same sort of aches.

My knees were a little uncomfy during the exercises too. I have weaker knees due to too many drunken nights dancing in ridiculous heels in my younger years  I didn't push fully with the exercises. I didn't follow the harder one (Natalie is it??) but probably somewhere in between the 2.

I prob did sweat a little, but, well just not like in zumba. For my double class I drink 1litre of water and need a little towel with me to pat myself down in between songs. And maybe I was more glistening in the shred :o I certainly didn't need a towel or anything, and I barely needed a drink afterwards.

Maybe I should do level 1 again today but try to push it a bit harder, and then if I find that ok go on to level 2 tomorrow. Am a bit worried that I will push it too far and then ache too much and not want to bother after that...

I think the thing is, I compare everything to zumba cos I love the classes soooooo much. If I could, I would go to more classes but its just I can't afford anymore which is why I thought I would try the dvd approach. My double class is £5 and I sometimes do another class with my friend which is £4 (but not as good as its with a different teacher)

Have you tried this site to find a class in your area?

    http://www.zumba.com/parties/search/

You have to type in your town and country. There were a lot more in my area than I thought - some of them don't really advertise much.

Lol, you can tell I am a zumba geek - I try to get everyone to do it! My mum still isn't having any of it tho :rotfl:

Hi guys :) Sounds like everyone is doing really well, abis you must be so fit! Tiara, I have to agree with you about the lunges in the last circuit, day 9 and I still can't co ordinate myself to do it, I have to look down and check my knees the whole time, and then my arms go awol!

I should be on about day 16 by now, but I'm only on day 9. It's so hard to fit in every day, although to be fair that's mostly because I've been busy, I've only missed one or two from being purely lazy! I measured myself for the first time since day 1 last night and I've lost a little so it's spurred me on to keep with it! I've not lost any weight though, and I actually feel like my arms have got bigger :( anyone else feel their arms are bulking up?

    Left arm: 12.5" 12.5" (same)
    Underbust: 27" 27" (same)
    Overbust: 34" 34" (same)
    Waist (narrowest): 27" 26.5" (-0.5)
    Waist (widest): 31" 31" (same)
    Hips: 37.5" 36.5" (-1)
    Right thigh: 22" 21" (-1)

I wouldn't have said I was particularly fit! You should see the colour and state of me after double zumba :rotfl:

I am however, about a million times fitter than I was. Started healthy eating and exercising in January and have lost nearly 2 stone now. I couldn't do much back then, but now I bike to work every day and do other stuff on top.

I did the long bike ride home today and must say I am feeling quite lazy and can't really be faffed to do day 2. How bad is that?!?

I am so slack with exercising at home (hence the dvd living in cellophane for about 2months!). Find it much easier to 'go to' a class, but then can't afford to go to any more classes.

Think I will need you guys to keep me in line to make sure I do it!! Right, time to turn the computer off and shred :A

Oh and Hock - I do zumba (have I mentioned that before :p) and thats quite a lot of arm work - so I was expectingt to have lost inches from there, but the are staying the same most frustratingly. But then this morning, I did a wobble test on them, and they are most definately improving tone wise. The would have given homer simpsons belly a challenge in the wobble test previously - so I know I must definately be doing some good... I think that it has kind of shifted from being a saggy bingo wing 13" arm to being a more muscly and toned 13" arm. I'm hoping thats how it looks to others too and I'm not just kidding myself :o

Aww thank you. WE ARE ALL doing great! I've done mine this afternoon before starting my blooming 12 hour night shift. I'm still knackered however (TMI moment!) I'm less sweaty so must be getting a bit fitter lol. Might have to buy a tape measure!!
Keep up the good work ladies!! X
