Ff quick question if I may .... How do u manage to get your shopping so low ? Was looking at your spreadsheet thingy and thats mightily impressive .... I'm thinking about ways to tackle this one ... Am thinking of handing those reins to hubby to see if he can do any better cause I is !!!! as Ali g would say lol
- Find your cheapest supermarkets. I favour Morrisons as they have good quality F&V and their weekly offers are pretty good. I also love their in-store bakery/butchery counters. If I'm not there I'm in Aldi
- Take advantage of offers - for example Tesco recently had a 3 for 2 on all pet products so I bought enough catfood for three months (would have bought more but we're in quite a small flat...!) and three bags of cat litter which is normally £9 a bag, reducing the cost per item to £6.
- Look for coupons in the paper/online. I must admit, I'm not as good at this as I could be, but if there's a £5 off spend voucher for Aldi then I will go there and stock up on meat.
- Have no shame about shopping for whoopsies
This is when the item is going out of date that day and you can get it for much cheapness. Last night we had tasty cod for tea that should have been £3 and was £1.20. Today's sandwiches are going to be made with a 39p loaf that should have been £1.29. The spreadsheet I use lets me track all the whoopsies and offers I take advantage off through the month.
Hopefully this is helpful

Good summary, Fresian.
And 39p is good for a whoopsied loaf, although you should join the Panni brigade and get a breadmaker! Please call me 'Pickle'

Current situation:
PAD/Spends - £117.50
Entertainment - £25.13
Groceries - £92.73 (Off to the shops today though, so that could change!)
ISA - £914.51
I have £95 sitting in an account ready for the car insurance, which is going to be around £400.
Ebay is looking good as well - the auctions end tomorrow and I have:
17 items for sale
6 will sell for £17.44 (at the moment)
12 items have watchers (and most of these are multiples)
Any money I get from there will be added to the car insurance pot and I'll PAD to it for the rest of the month. I'm hoping for total profit from Ebay of £35, but I'm not going to get too excited

Knackered tonight - did four hours overtime this morning, then went to Morrisons and Aldi (£33ish spent although I have to remove the non-grocery spends for clarity)
Not long up from an afternoon nap then out to a housewarming party in ten minutes. No time for makeup, just to find hairbrush :eek:
