Due to the obscene cost of property in Edinburgh, my parents lent me half the cost of my flat (repayable when they die as they have now realised I won't be running my company by the age of 40!) and I took out a mortgage for £50,000 (I think, might have been £54,000) This has left me in a pretty good postition compared to most people my age and older, and means that when rates go rocketing hopefully it won't ruin me!0 -
Yay to extra money FF! That's always a good thing. Canny wait to get paid girl. Tis getting tight!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Your mortgage is much the same as mine.

Wow, just think there are some people (and I am sure they wont mind me saying this) who came to this site owing a lot more than what is outstanding on your mortgage, and paid it off within a few short years.
(disclaimer - I am not, and never will be, one of them!).
But my mortgage is less than £80K, so I'm quite proud of that

My mortgage payment has gone through as well, meaning that it's now under £45,000
We're still in The North but returning home later on today. Looks like a form of expense for me is figuring out why my laptop battery charger is dead (along with the sodding battery which hasn't worked for months) A little googling on my dad's computer to see how much this will cost me is in plan I think. I don't really want to find that it's economically more viable to ditch the laptop altogether and buy a new one  It's still too new...
Hope everyone is having a lovely morning
