Bumped into head today and he apologised for not giving me the job. Went on to say he was very VERY impressed with me and whilst interviewing me he had a few lightbulb moments. He said he didn't want to make me any false promises but wanted to let me know that he is working on something and there is definite potential for the near future and that I wasn't to worry.

Interesting. I have a feeling its the peer mentoring stuff....if that's right I'd much rather work on that than be a PDL anyway - so things may yet work out. Good news :T

DH's grandma died this morning though so I've got better things to think about at the minute. Thanks for the thoughts though guys.

So sorry, but glad he got to say goodbye.
(grateful - it was when they restructured the whole school and it became TLR's. I opted out at first, and then decided to interview. I feel i got the best laugh though, as the guy doing it still is useless, and they all know it. ;))

You are soooo well out of that place.

twinklie glad you have DH home, even if for sad reasons. xxx

Right I know I'm not happy. I've already cleaned the kitchen floor (I never do), scrubbed and bleached the yard, sorted out all of Belles "presents", done and hung out a wash and played with and fed Belle. Just sitting down with a brew before blitzing the kitchen and doing another wash.

Keeping busy to avoid my thoughts running away with myself??? Me? Never.

So just spoke to DH's family - they've not started organising funeral yet and so could run on into the week after next. Means DH will have to go back down to Wales now. Hmmm...not what we were hoping for really.

No other news beyond that really.

Just looking at mortgages again. Even if we reduced ours to a 10 year mortgage our monthly payments would still be less than what the minimum is on what we are paying now before OPing. Thats quite exciting.

Upsetting though because we figured out it will probably be like 2014 before we have any idea where we need to relocate and so before we can buy a house and start a family. I'll be 33 then. :( Ah well.

Are you sure you want to wait on the family thing? only i think that you have to have done a job for 12months i think before you get maternity pay? so would that be 2015/16... Babies fit in quite well with anything (in my small experience of bringing one up!)

It's the living apart thing...I don't want to have a baby on my own. But hopefully if he can get a job up here then it won't be a problem and I'll get mat leave anyway. There really isn't a way round it, unless he gives up his PhD.

  • Hey twinklie
what are the issues that make it 2014 until you are able to relocate?
sounds like a difficult choice....does DH have to be up there for teaching/tutorials full time for the PhD or could he do some/most of the write up with you?
hope your doing okay sending hugs your way x
