Do you know...I don't even know how to get a sick note...I've only had one twice. Once after an op when I needed to keep my foot elevated so they just gave me one at the hospital. Then the second was when I had swine flu and they did it with DH over the phone.

Do you ask for one? Or do they give you one? I really have no idea. I think I'll feel like a fraud if I have to ask for one.

And just before I zip off to bed. I downloaded a brilliant to do list app for my phone which I am LOVING!

And we may be switching the mortgage sooner than we expected. The "double ins" saga I told you about thickens. Not only will we not be getting any refund (not that I expected one) they are trying to charge us over £500 in missed payments. The DD was cancelled but not the insurance so they are expecting us to sort it out and pay them back.

Erm, I do believe that's not our fault!!! Anyhoo, we shall see what they say when DH and I have had some more time to think about it and go in to sort it. I can't do anything because it's all in his name.

I've arrived home with a GIANT bag of stuff. They seem to think that it's a chest infection which has flared up thrush which has in turn given me laryngitis. It would appear that I've had thrush for YEARS and not known about it. Interesting.

She didn't seem impressed with what I've been told in the past and has changed all my asthma meds because she thinks it's them that have caused it all. Interesting.

Anyway, no sick note but did say to take antibiotics for chest infection first, then take thrush stuff after it's all finished or it won't work effectively. She did say to rest my voice for a few days though...so I'm not sure whether to go in the rest of the week or just leave it until after the hols. Would be an easy choice if I felt unwell...I don't it's just the voice issue.

    Advice please...

  • Nasty combination - but it would be great if it was solved after a few meds.

The choice is yours hon. I personally don't think you are well enough if you have very little voice, and you will put strain on your voice which will then take longer to heal. But then again, i had really ropey classes who needed me to shout above them an awful lot just to get attention to start teaching them.

    Do you think it wise?

I would be ok tomorrow because the classes are good...Friday however, is another story. I'll need to speak a lot. Fridays are my worst "talky/shouty" days. I could just say copy out of books etc but then I kinda think whats the point in me being there...

Argh...decisions decisions. I am tired to be fair, was up a lot of the night coughing. Grr...I've emailed my HOD to get his opinion - he's lovely and will give me an honest answer. :D I feel a bit of a fraud to be honest.

Yay! Very MSE. Rest your voice honey, I know at least two chalks who are reduced to permanently using a radio mike as they have strained their voices beyond repair.

You can always do some stuff at home if you feel guilty.
