Just realise my bessie leaves work a week today...I feel all emotional. Anyone would think I'm not going to see her. But we've done all our training together, worked in the same department together etc. Even though I don't even see her hardly during the day, the idea of her not being a few doors away is weird.

I know it's stupid but I miss her already. She is soooooooo lovely and whilst I can't wait for her to be a mummy (it's so exciting), I don't want her to leave me!!! Ha ha.

Good God...I need to get a grip!

Well kids...guess who is ill again. I'm ill without being ill...stupid voice has just upped and left. I don't feel unwell aside from being tired. I had to leave period 3 today though because I was getting nowhere. A bloomin nightmare. Couldn't get an appointment at docs though - gotta call again at 8.30 am. If I can get my voice out...might have to just rock up there yet and write them a note! :rotfl:

This is the 5th time it's totally packed up on me in less than a year!! So I guess I'll have to see if this new docs are better than my old ones. Hopefully they'll do something about it. I can't face trying to go to work with no voice - and so I won't, not least because I don't want to do permenant damage.

If I self cert the rest of the week...if needs be, how does that work with regards to half term hols. Do the hols count as sick days? Surely not.

  • Please don't work through no voice. I had to have speech therapy for mine a few years back as i kept pushing it and really strained myself.

Hols aren't sick days, but if you think you might still be ill after half term then get a sick note.

Sorry to hear you are off it again. Did you ever get fully to the bottom of the stuff last summer?

I defo won't be working without my voice....I can't even keep quiet in a house on my own...at work it just wouldn't happen. My biggest fear is not speaking...it's a fav past time of mine. I know I sound like I'm making light of it all...but I'm not I promise.

Never found out what was wrong with me last time...but I'd put money on it all being connected. Fingers crossed they'll refer me to ENT or something. I have no idea if I'll be ill after half term...it depends - if it is same as last time...probably is the only answer I can give.

  • Chase up the other stuff, and get a sick note in case. Might be more faff, but worth it to cover yourself hun.

Hope you manage to rest it and it comes back.
