Anyone want to join me for a small sweet sherry?:D It's usually such a lovely thread- I'll prise open my purse and treat you all to a wee tipple as it seems we are in need today:eek:
Arilx
PS My cat has just sat on top of the bucket [lidded I hasten to add] of parsnip wine:eek:Might get OH to try the parsnip wine Aril. He brews his own beer and has made vegan wine for me, just substituted the isinglass for something else that the shop recommended. His beer is well liked round these parts (hic)

NualaBuala wrote: »((((((Laushappy)))))) So sorry to hear about the panic attacks, must be very tough. Are you getting any help/support for them? I've heard meditation can help, if you want any info just holler. You sound like you've a good plan for coping with the lost earnings though, well done!
Oh - and you didn't offend anyone at all (that I know of!) - but I did wonder for a sec and then cos of the smiley figured it was a joke. I'm sorry if this discussion about it has upset you - not my intention at all. x
Oh dear. Sorry Minnie, I didn't think it was a big thing and I really didn't intend to cause any upset when I remarked that I wondered about it then decided it was a joke. I guess I do take things seriously and wouldn't want to condone anything that goes against the ethical grain so to speak. I'm glad it made you smile - not easy at a time like this, I'm sure.
I wasnt upset at all, just concerned that i may have offended so please dont worry about it.
Thank you for your support re my panic attacks, looking into nutritional approaches to help alleviate the problem. so here's hoping this works. x0 -
Better get off and get ready for work tomorrow. I haven't even made my soup yet...and I need a bath. Where does the time go...
Tomorrow is another day so onwards and upwards everyone

I did take it wrongly I'm afraid because I know that a lot of people do actually do this.
Anyway all sorted now and time to move on I think.:)
Thank you Lizzie still tired but have been staying up too late reading the 'tough for six years thread'.
Has anyone cooked carrots for hours in a casserole type thing that stayed rock hard?!Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I sometimes find this too, especially if i add it to cottage pies etc, have you tried adding some extra liquid to the caserole so when cooking the liquid is less thick? carrots need to absorb lots of water to soften. can always thicken up the sauce when the carrots are cooked.0 -
wow cheryl - sound very fit to me!!!! im not much of a runner (if you saw me youd know why) and im also severely asthmatic and got a joint condition, the best i done 5km in was 32mins, that was prob 3years ago, but that would be a lot less if you didnt have to wait ten mins before you shuffle over the line!! and the first few corners are very slow!! plus i have to bandage all my joints up and keep puffing on the old inhaler every few yards!! i think its a bloody miricale everytime i cross the line!! (so does my osteopath - who stated the only way youll be doing the race for life is if someone pushes you round in a wheelchair - thanks for the encouragement!! and i bloody done it in 34mins - hehe!!)
i wasnt blessed with an athletic figure and the bike i bought for myself saturday is a kiddies bike!!!!
i totally admire you!!! would love to do things like that!! im sure you will do amazingly well!!!!! i do walk alot - got 3dogs who are all walked seperately so i do a good few miles!! but would love to be able to run!!!
good luck with all the training!!! and hopefully you have an easy day at work after they are all done!!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0
