To everyone else, especially minnie - please don't stop posting. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it doesn't mean others have to agree. This is an open forum, everyone is entitled to post what they want, provided that it isn't nasty, which nothing was.
This is one of the best threads on MSE, and doesn't need to be spoilt by people thinking that they can't post their feelings or whatever for fear of being jumped on by others.
That would be sad.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

We used the CJJ Berry book for the parsnip wine [it's a classic and should be available from the library]. We started out with equipment from carboot sales and freecycle and initially bought a couple of kits to find our feet and see whether we took to it:D We've got braver as we've gone along and are now making more without the boxes- some are lovely eg mead some have been frankly well:eek: I've simply reused empty vino bottles, we buy our sugar from £land and use the Sainsburys basics sultanas. I also owe my gratitude to the invaluable advice I received on another forum and their endless patience with my daft questions!
I'd recommend giving it a whirl but starting simple so that if you don't take to it then you haven't had too great an outlay.

((((((Laushappy)))))) So sorry to hear about the panic attacks, must be very tough. Are you getting any help/support for them? I've heard meditation can help, if you want any info just holler. You sound like you've a good plan for coping with the lost earnings though, well done!
Oh - and you didn't offend anyone at all (that I know of!) - but I did wonder for a sec and then cos of the smiley figured it was a joke. I'm sorry if this discussion about it has upset you - not my intention at all. xso sorry about chaps dad!!! but very well done on the race for life!!! its a wonderful event!!!!
i will be doing the 10k this year in may i think ours is!! fabulous event - i do it very year 5k, except last year as my health was in question - so 10k this year will make up for it!!!
just a bit surprised at the reaction - think perhaps ill just support from now on - if i dont say anything personal about myself - i dont run the risk of it happening again!!!
Hope everyone is still doing well on the challenge or looking forward to starting afresh next month!!!
Not long now and we will already be in the second month of the year!!!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Just read the above posts.
I'm very sorry if joke re the taking back offended anyone, i did put aon the end to show that i was joking. I'm a very jokey person, so again sorry if this offended anyone.
Will try to think before i type next time.
you didnt offend me!!!! i signed off in a much better mood - just surprised at how many people took it wrong reading through last few pages.Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0 -
Todays wasn't a RFL event - it was raising funds for medical suppplies for Chernobyl.
I pre-paid for a RFL last July, and was told I'd get an email when they released the dates. Realised today I've not had that email (and I know for a fact I'm not the only one), but that the dates have been posted
I want a 10km for that, but the two local ones are 19th June (the date of my half-marathon, so out of the question) and 9th July...... with my running club having a cancer fund raising 5km on 10th July
Have been assured by another runner that (as long as I remain injury free on the half, which I have the entire following week off work to recover from!) there's no reason I can't safely book in for a 10km on 9th and a 5km on 10th and be fit for work at 7am on 11th (though I may see if I can book the day off work just to be safe)
oh sorry my mistake!!!! blimey!!!!!!!!!!! wow you must be fit!!! thats amazing!!! hopes it all works out!!!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0 -

Oh dear. Sorry Minnie, I didn't think it was a big thing and I really didn't intend to cause any upset when I remarked that I wondered about it then decided it was a joke. I guess I do take things seriously and wouldn't want to condone anything that goes against the ethical grain so to speak. I'm glad it made you smile - not easy at a time like this, I'm sure.
it wasnt just you sweets!! i was just catching up on the last few pages and it just keeps cropping up and everytime i read another comment - my heart sinks a bit further!Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!0 -

oh sorry my mistake!!!! blimey!!!!!!!!!!! wow you must be fit!!! thats amazing!!! hopes it all works out!!!
Fitter than I was 12 months ago, and one heck of a lot fitter than I was 18 months ago - but still wouldn't class myself as 'fit'.....
I've actually got a LOT of work to do in order to be ready for the half-marathon, and really need to try and maintain todays average pace if I want to complete it in a time I'd be more than happy with
(will be happy just to complete it - but the organisers have a time limit of 2hrs 40 on it, so I want to be 'home' well ahead of that)
Longest run to date was a solo one of 7.8 miles back in August (at just over 11mins/mile). Second longest was another solo one (of 6.78 miles) I did this last Wednesday at 10:19/mile.it wasnt just you sweets!! i was just catching up on the last few pages and it just keeps cropping up and everytime i read another comment - my heart sinks a bit further!Cheryl0
