I'm glad! Can well imagine teaching must be tiring - but hopefully it'll become easier as time goes on. And then you can use any excess energy for wedding planning! :)

teaching is very tiring!!!! - and then i take the kids home with me in evenigs and all weekend!! must be mad!!!

Glad it was a joke RE wearing something and taking it back, I stayed away a few days from the challenge as I could not trust myself to bite my tongue! :rotfl:

EFC, wow, you are doing great on the spending! That's a lovely arrangement you have with your neighbour. :T I'm trying to live off stores as much as possible for the rest of the month but might need some little top-ups of fresh stuff.

I was worried at first it was serious but remembered I've been told I sometimes take things too seriously and there were lots of smilies so figured it was a joke.
Lovely to see you posting again - I'd noticed you hadn't been around and was going to PM you if you hadn't reappeared to see if you're ok.
    !

i cant believe that, that comment has made such a big stir!

I hope Laushappy who said it to me isnt feeling bad about it- I knew how you ment it, and it worked - made me smile which is what i really needed so THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

thats the prob with written text - people can take it the wrong way! and the fuss over that has now kind of made me a bit weary about commenting on here. I feel so bad - wish id never said im going to a funeral now.
Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!

Official race results have been posted - I came in at position 365 of 422 runners despite being last over the start line (by some considerable seconds) and with an official time of 58:59 (which is from them shouting 'go' rather than my crossing the start line). Using their timing gives me an average pace of 9mins 30 a mile - which is waaaaay better than I've ever managed on any run to date :T

Is super happy with that :D

And it would have made for a truly excellent (birth)day if only my chaps Dad hadn't been whisked into hospital :(

Oh no Minnie, please don't think that! I'm glad you felt able to say it, it's such a tough time for you. Thank goodness for smileys to show us when things are intended as humour! (As Laushappy and Ruby both intended).

I think we all need a:coffee: or  and a big :grouphug:

Cheryl - very impressive time!!!! Think you thoroughly deserve to put your feet up and eat a few choccies now. Glad your chappie has you for moral support, you've been a real rock to him lately.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

While i remember thank you to those who informed us of the electrical offers in Mr S, my SCooker broke a few months back so i have replaced it today with RH one reduced from 50 to 19.99, bargain!

Happy Birthday Cheryl, well done on your run, sounds like you have lots of energy! i soooooo need to get fit!

All in all an odd weekend for me really, more money lost from not working due to these blinkin panic attacks, ahhhhh! :(
Had a very bad one friday and called the paramedics out as my heart was beating so fast, keep thinkin why i me, why am i getting these:mad:

Anyway back on subject, spent 70 quid in Mr s today (inc slow cooker and bday pressie for my grandma and food for her party today) and 21.23 in lidl. Mr S suprisingly had some good whoosies, fair trade bananas 49p, TTD pears 69p, pineapple 39p, eggs free range 99p. As i have plenty of meat and fish in the freezer, i shouldnt need to buy much (except for extra veg when run out) for a week or so.

BTW beef mince in lidl half price at 99p, although had all gone when i got there, might be worth having a look in your local store in case they have any left.

Planning a few NSD this week to make up for the loss of work.

    Nite nite

just a bit surprised at the reaction - think perhaps ill just support from now on - if i dont say anything personal about myself - i dont run the risk of it happening again!!!

Hope everyone is still doing well on the challenge or looking forward to starting afresh next month!!!

Not long now and we will already be in the second month of the year!!!

Todays wasn't a RFL event - it was raising funds for medical suppplies for Chernobyl.

I pre-paid for a RFL last July, and was told I'd get an email when they released the dates. Realised today I've not had that email (and I know for a fact I'm not the only one), but that the dates have been posted

I want a 10km for that, but the two local ones are 19th June (the date of my half-marathon, so out of the question) and 9th July...... with my running club having a cancer fund raising 5km on 10th July

Have been assured by another runner that (as long as I remain injury free on the half, which I have the entire following week off work to recover from!) there's no reason I can't safely book in for a 10km on 9th and a 5km on 10th and be fit for work at 7am on 11th (though I may see if I can book the day off work just to be safe ;))

and as I've quoted two posts, you'll see a little arrow at the start of both of them :)

As NualaBuala says, it really is easier to show than to try and type instructions everyone can understand - but here goes anyway......

URL is web address, so if you click on a post number the web address (URL) appears in the bar at the top of your browser (where you'd normally type the address for a site you want to visit).

    To create a link....

first copy the URL of the page you want to send people to (highlight the address bar, 'Edit', 'Copy')
then come back to the post you want to insert the link into
type the word you want to make into a link (such as here or someone's name) and then highlight that
now click on the createlink.gif icon above where you're typing
when a pop up window appears, do an 'Edit' 'Paste' to drop in the URL you previously copied (but ensure you only have ONE http:// at the start having done so)
click on 'OK' in that pop-up window, and you now have a link back to the single post :)

Hurrah, hurrah, Iv'e found the little arrow at least, am determined I shall do this eventually so I'll explore more. Thanks Cheryl and NuBu for your help. XX
    Keep to £400 a month on C/C.

Hi everyone. Can I come back in the fold grouphugg.gif
Missed you all, even though it was only a few days but just had a little time out.
Have read all the posts, phew, and there's been a lot of ups and downs for some of you but as usual loads of warm support :A
Got some scrappy paper in front of me with my squiggles on from reading the posts 'cos it only lets you quote 3 at a time so..........
Hello to Green_Queen, pipersky and slscarbourough :)
Happy belated birthday to 23rdspiral and Happy birthday to cw18 and huge well done on the run :T aem32.gif
Kezlou big hugz you seem to be going through some tough times at the moment. The sewing group sounds great though and hopefully will help to cheer you up a bit.
flying-fresian hope the weekend away was dreamy, lovely to spend some quality time away isn't it.
rubytuesday hope you're feeling a little better huni from your aches and pains :(
NualaBuala I so agree with you on the shopping as a habit. I pass A*di and the Co-*p when taking and dropping off the kids at friends etc and the amount of times I've thought 'I'll just pop in and get bread' etc and spent a small fortune. I now find myself driving past :j
lynzpower you really are the 'Queen of all things veg' wish I had a little bit of your energy. Hope your feeling okay too as I read you weren't feeling too good also :(
slowlyfading so sorry to hear about the pms. It takes all sorts I suppose. Big hugz.
Sorry I've not quoted everyone but have caught up with all the posts and huge hugz to all.
And a special hug for Aril toyou.gif (she knows why)

Now for the naughty bit. I had deleted my sig and can only guess I spent around £300. Was aiming for £240.
Starting afresh tomorrow so my month will run from 24th Jan to 24th Feb and will aim for a £300 grocery/sundries spend, think this may be more realistic due to size of family.
