  • Has anyone on this thread decided to get married while in vegas? If so, how did you go about arranging it? We're off in about 10 days and OH was hinting this evening. I'm curious for anyone's experiences really :)
  • We are getting married in Vegas in a couple of weeks. We got engaged 6 weeks ago after 15 years together. We have arranged the wedding through a British planner who so far has been great.
The main thing to do is get a wedding license but it is pretty straight forward and you can get it while out there.
I found the options of places to get married a bit mind boggling but I will help if I can.

There are lots of wedding/marriage posts on this and previous years posts, it may be worth doing a search

have been weighing up the options between them and Avios meself
We go for avios because we prefer to travel B.A., and they seem to run some good promotions. The best use of avios on B.A. is to buy WT+ tickets and use 25,000 points to upgrade to Club return, known as MFU.
We got 2 returns in CW to LAS paid for entirely with Tesco CC points by buying and selling dongles, CD's and mobile phones this year.
Next year there is a promotion in February where instead of getting 600 avios for £2.50 in CC vouchers, you will get 1,000. Already bought 60 ink cartridges to sell on and recycled 5 mobile phones to hit that promo hard.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We got married in the drive through at the Little White wedding chapel. With licence and "ceremony":D just a little over $100.

Yeah but its one for one. Tesco Virgin scheme gives you three times as much as the Nectar scheme.

They don't really -as Virgin is off full priced packages without discounts. I've used Nectar for flights with Expedia and used direct hotel deals to get the best prices which worked out the best savings as the "Expedia special flights" are usually the discounted ones. More choice of airline too -which considering my dislike of Virgin to Vegas is a good thing ;)

We got married in Vegas in October (been meaning to post that TR for a while  )

It is very straight forward you need three things:
    1.) a wedding licence
Costs $60. You can just turn up at the Clark County Marriage Licence Bureau, stand in a (potentially) long line OR you can "pre-apply", bring your ref no & £60 in cash then go in the express line. We did the latter and were in and out in under 5 minutes.
    2.) someone to marry you
There are a lot of chapels to choose from, with prices varying from budget to extravagant. All depends what you're after. We married at Chapel of the Flowers. They were great. I think their prices start at $195.
    3.) a witness
Chapels can arrange these or just ask a random person.....

Feel free to PM me if you want any more info!
    Married in Vegas - 25th October 2011!

Yup I know :) I've been a regular lurker (and occasional poster) on the thread over the past year:beer: . It's just the actual process of organising the licence etc I was interested in if you decide to do it on the spur of the moment and the experience of anyone else to decided to do that!
Thanks for the info MariaC - very useful indeed!

You can certainly do it on the spur of the moment, just make sure that if you are divorced you bring your decree nisi

today's Groupon sounds kind of cool, if not a bit pricey for what it is...but there are s'mores! I'm tempted...even if it seems a bit expensive for stargazing, there are s'mores...and it would keep us out of the casino for awhile.

    http://www.groupon.com/las-vegas/

People naturally feel romantic when they're bathed in mood lighting, whether it's the twinkle of fireflies, a full moon in a starry sky, or a slow, glowing flow of lava oozing through a downtown thoroughfare. Savor an air of romance from a safe distance with today's Groupon: for $59, you get a four-hour Hoover Dam and Desert Stargazing Tour from Guided Vegas Tours (a $125 value). Tours start at 6:30 p.m. and include transportation from and back to any hotel on the Strip.
On four-hour treks to the Hoover Dam and desert landscape, locally attuned certified tour guides lead up to six participants on four-hour jaunts through a different side of after-hours Vegas. Around dusk, both lights and the tour guide's stock of historic local stories illuminate the dam that roars with power and keeps the Colorado River and its merfolk from infiltrating the surrounding area. Then, excursionists venture beyond the glow and bustle of the city to stake provided telescopes in the lakeside desert sands. As the star-savvy guide shares the science and mythology behind the constellations, planets, and giant black hole where the sun sleeps every night, celestial tourists stay warm with coffee, cider, hot chocolate, and s'mores.

OK, wait...officially s'mores fondue, which I am not entirely certain how that would work...but still...

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
