in all our trips, the missus has never had any issues with her hair straighteners (believe me, i'd know about it if she did )

I can only guess that - as photome says - yours weren't dual voltage, or whatever its called

My original straighteners worked OK. They took longer to heat up and didn't get as hot as at home, but they did work. The dual voltage ones I have now work no problem.

How long did you wait at immigration with being at the back of the plane?

pebbles - good luck on the upgrade and safe trip back - hard to believe you are still there...I remember leaving and thinking 'pebbles arrives today'...and that was ages ago!

Triker - safe trip for you too...and thanks for the mac & cheese recipe...can never have too many of those, I say. I have never tried using evaporated milk but am now on a mission!

Triker, yes we have been here for 8 weeks. I sort of lost track of who was here when we were or I would have pm'ed you to sort out a meet. I'm ready for home now, just wish I had a tardis or something to get us back a but quicker.
