  • We're there March 24th-April 7th next year. I think there are a few more who posted on here who are out around that time of the year.

Bit of a random question so please be gentle dudes...:D

Does Harrahs have valet parking? And if so do I have to pay extra to use it or just tip the valet?

Or do I just self park and check in. Tho I am assuming parking is included in the price right?

Every strip hotel has free parking, I believe they all have valet as well, you just have to tip the valet a few dollars when you pick up car. You can self park as well but this can be a MASSIVE walk to the hotel/strip after.

Harrahs does have valet parking and the self park lifts drop you on the 1st floor down the corridor from Toby Keiths (our 1st floor U.S. 2nd floor) the ground floor (their 1st) is about 70 yds from the main entrance and valet, you cross the road and enter the hotel near reception.

I stayed in the tower nearest Toby's and found getting the lift (from whichever floor of the car park to that level allowed us to be able to bring in shopping etc without having to traipse through the casino or reception. That level also has a small Starbucks that's open in the mornings not so busy as the one on the ground floor, you could almost nip down in your jimjams I suppose?

Oh one more thing pull up when you're gonna check-in and use the valet you will also get a porter, fine if you like that sort of thing but both will expect a tip. It is usual to tip a Dollar when dropping off the motor as well as a tip when picking it up. Some sort of thing that he won't destroy the car when parking it and that he'll put it in the shade. A bit like don't argue with a waiter before he delivers your food.

I have never tipped a valet parker on arrival, only on pick up ($2) have never had any damage and always been in the shade as they nearly all park underground or multi storey??

we don't tip valets at drop off either, just at pickup.

And we always wave off the porters...I prefer to have our bags with us and go straight to the room...on the rare occasion we have left them and called down for them, it's usually fine, but once we waited like 40 minutes...and within 40 minutes we're normally both showered, changed and sat at a slot machine...so since then, we pass on the assistance.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

oops. Meant heathrow! didnt know were i was.

My straightners are the ghd type but didnt turn on at all. Had heard of peoples notgetting as hot etc but had never heard of them not switch on at all.Tried them back home and all was working but maybe it was just mine.

As for customs, back of the line! Not too bad if you have to wait for the bags anyway as theyre all off by then. Or in my case not! Maybe waited half an hour i would say.
