MarchI'm off to Vegas in a couple of weeks for a wedding. Are there many free wifi hotspots around the strip? I know the hotels charge for access and I'd like to be able to keep in touch on my phone a bit while I'm there
Also we're staying at the Luxor and have tickets to see Penn & Teller which is at the Rio, it doesn't look that far but there is a motorway junction in between by the looks of it. Does anyone know if it is walkable or will we need to cab it there?
Any Denny's, IHOP or Starbucks for sure.
Cab to the Rio. There are shuttles but probably not convenient for your location.0 -
MayDo you need a code for the wifi at Denny's and Starbucks? I needed one at the Tea Leaf and Coffee Bean even though it was free.0

Thanks for all the replies about Christmas. I've tried to see what is going on over the festive period in Vegas apart from the norm. Is there anything that we should definitely see whilst we are there that wouldn't normally be?0

MarchI found Christmas day to be pretty much business as usual, some of the shops etc tend to shut earlier on Christmas Eve, it seems that it is a more important part of the holiday season than Christmas day itself.
One memorable sight was the queues out the door at Maccy D's on Christmas afternoon!
Apologies to our American members on here but I love a Christmas dinner but I couldn't get on with the US version, even though I was sort of looking forward to it. I did find brussel sprouts on the Gold Coast buffet, and they worked a la the Royle family stylee. It should be against the law to have anything but brown gravy!0 -
November / DecemberWhat about thanksgiving?
I would love to try a traditional thanksgiving meal somehwere.
Any info on this would be great.
We fly out on 23rd Nov for the 1st time.
Any ideas on where to go for special birthday meals as its OH birthday on 1st Dec.
Cheers0 -
November / DecemberJust had a look at Earth Cam, people are wearing jackets and coats so will start to pack accordingly. Looks a bit overcast too.

So what was on the American Christmas dinner that was really different to the one here? I would imagine some sort of yams or sweet potatoes...maybe the oft served green bean casserole...but apart from that, Christmas dinner varies a lot from region to region and family to family in the US...so other than turkey or ham (or both) and cranberry sauce...and stuffing/dressing...there may be mimimal similarities between one family's Chrstimas dinner and another's.
Also, brussell sprouts are the devil's food.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
