OctoberJust tried to price up the same trip for random dates in August booking flights and hotels separately, and it came to about £3500 - so yes it looks a good deal - and you might get some honeymoon extras booking with Virgin.
NY and Vegas in August though -very hot and even hotter!
Yes but east coasters will tell you that at least it's a dry heat in Vegas.
OK then, stick your head in an oven then and see how you like it
BTW still very pleasant weather here reaching 80f during the day and no need for even a sweater at night, all set to change tomorrow thoughThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

Wait, aren't you one of those 'we like it when our faces melt off' people?
We may go see family in the US next summer, and keep kind of thinking maybe open jaw ticket and make a stop in Vegas...but having done it twice and swearing never again...I'm not sure if sense will prevail or if we will stick with just Feb and Nov. It suits some, but it so very much does not suit us...not if there's an option for another time, anyway.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
OctoberI didn't say I don't like the heat, just that people from the East think they have some sort of monopoly on how oppressive heat can be.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. Marchah, yes that is a fair point...but having grown up in the Midwest, I can see that Vegas hot vs Midwest hot are very different things and at the very least there is much less actual opportunity to sweat in Vegas.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

OctoberWorth it?
What are everyone's opinions on the leg room situation?
PS no comments on merits of BA over Virgin please, already booked Virgin and just wondering on the different types of class......

If you can afford it, then yes its nicer than economy. Its the same as Venetian versus Imperial Palace type questions.....if you can afford it, then yes its nicer.illegitimi non carborundum0

OctoberThanls!
What I really need is a tallish person (in the region of 6'2") to tell me whether they have been comfortable enough in economy on a Vegas flight....not that I am being specific lol.
To me personally it's not worth the extra money...if I had limitless funds maybe but £750 extra on a return flight is just too much of a hit on my spending money!0 -

I'm 6'4" and fly VA economy, I fit, not much clearance to be sure and seat laying back can be an issue. The bigger problem in being comfortable is seat back height. If the extendable headrest isn't up to snuff and drops at the least provocation you sit there with your head bobbing about like a noddy dog.
Longer legs means you can't really slide down in the seat to rest your head.
Going over is not an issue as I don't sleep anyway on the way out, but have tried to upgrade on the return overnight flight on my last 2 trips without success.0 -

well i'm 6'1
The flight out we paid extra to have @extra leg room seats - not prem economy they were I think 30 quid extra for 2 inches extra leg room(but may have been more I cant remember)
they were cramped but defintely worth paying that much for the extra space
same if they offer to sell you an emergency exit seat
Premium economy is worth the money if you can afford it. if not then don't
(personally I cant justify the extra expense of another flight for 9 hours of extra space.. would rather spend that on another holiday)0
