Hi all,
Harrisab won the draw for my coupon books, which I hope are useful. The winning number was 23 and she guessed 27. So sorry to everyone who PMd me, I wish I had more to send out.
Have a great time in LV y'all.
xxLovin Boots and other bargainous places!0 -
November / DecemberI strongly recommend kayak.co.uk for keeping an eye on flight prices. You can set up an email to tell you if the price goes down for your chosen dates which is very useful.
They also have a flight calendar which will tell you the cheapest dates for any particular month.0 -
MarchSouthwest have a very generous rebook policy. You could cancel those flights and get a credit valid for up to a year. Personally though I think it's quite a boring drive and would stick with flying.
I never hire a car in Vegas unless planning on a National Park etc -never missed it.
Horses for courses and all that, I don't think that I could do Vegas without a car, especially when staying just in town. Nothing flash or fancy, £250 for a 12 days last time in Sept, would have easily spent that in cab fares. Trips out to the malls, places like Southpoint, TheM and Red Rock made it cheaper than taxis for sure.
It was not my favourite trip staying mid-strip, so the car and the freedom it gave made it tolerable.
Also important on the car thing is that I don't drink, which must be a consideration on moving around.0 -

Same here, though I get that we're all split maybe 60%/40% car/no car here...so I know that for some it's not an issue, and some are well versed in the public transport options and that serves them well.
But I cannot imagine a trip without a car - maybe if we were only doing 3-nights, maybe...but even if it's just being the master of our own destiny in terms of getting back to the airport - it's worth it to me...I cannot begin to imagine what time I would make my hubby get in the taxi queue if I had to factor in potential delays there in addition to all the potential delays I normally have to keep in mind.
Plus, having a car and driving various places keeps us out of the casinos for the duration of the drive, at least...so really, it's a money saving thing in the end.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Saw Absinthe last night....absolutely amazing. Won't spoil it but it's the best show I've seen in 5 trips to Vegas. If you're easily offended in any way shape or form, I'd stick to Cirque !!
Thanks! We've booked for New Year's Day!:jWe've even had a call from the US telling us that the show will start 1/2 an hour earlier than advertised that day!
What's the seating like? - we've got:
Section
GA2
Row
GA0
Seats
1 - 2
TIA0 -
Marchthink it's general admission seating - 2 different types VIP and standard GA...so seats allocated as you arrive.
Very glad that they extended so we can finally see it!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AugustI am another one who couldnt do without a car for the same reasons as already said by others0

November / DecemberWe have a car for about half our trip. It would be too expensive to have one for the whole time. We also get a 30 day bus ticket, and make use of free shuttles. If we only visited for a short time, we'd probably rent a car for the whole trip.0

Our last two nights of our last trip were disrupted, and at the time felt ruined by Absinthe (or lack of Absinthe!), and we were very angry with them at the time for their abysmal communications about it all, however we got a $75 credit from Caesars as an apology - excellent service from them (as the show has nothing to do with them other than being on their property) which we had fun spending on drinks in the seahorse lounge and room service! So we'll probably give it a go next year (earlier in our holiday tho!
)
I also got one of the managers business cards at Caesars, who I may hassle via. email to see if we can get cheaper rooms through them next time too0 -
January / FebruaryFree Breakfast every day! * International guests only. * Book any length of stay at any Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas property and receive FREE BREAKFAST, PER PERSON, UP TO 2 PEOPLE every morning of your stay! * PLUS you'll still receive the fantastic coupon book, valued at over $1,500, including 2 for 1 show options, discounts on various dining outlets, complimentary drinks, and so much more!
This is an option for me when booking Planet Hollywood. Of course the word free is to be taken with a pinch of salt. It works out at 23 euro per day EXTRA. ANyone know what the breakfast consists of? Is it Spice Market Buffet? That would become tiresome every morning
Also looking at their website it would seem that the strip suite doesn't offer 2 beds so as regards upgrade I would be looking at resort vista ? ?. Most photos of resort rooms show king bed though.
