The dates we are looking at have suddenly dropped in price for indirect flights which is great but the cheapest is via JFK (we'd rather avoid that) and the orthers seem to be minneapolis and Atlanta.

The flights are with Delta and KLM (operated by Delta) Any comments would be greatly appreceated.

Have flown into and out of both. Atlanta just has the wrong vibe for me, and it is pretty big. You might just take a while to get to the terminal you need for a connection.( I think there are 5 of them) MSP is really nice, there is a monorail that rides above you in the terminals so eay to get around.

MSP & ATL are both big hub airports, MSP is nicer I think...

GVR has PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Coffee Bean & Tea leaf, Giraffe, and others and the ones in the hotel. More deals at https://www.weluvlocals.com for all the station casinos. Also on Fri & Sat nights they play a movie by the carousel which is pretty cool and free! New Target just down the road too.

Can you tell that's my corner of town?!

Thanks for the replies MSP is the one I'm thinking of booking £560 it's dropped too which seems good to me. jFK is 520.

I connected in MSP a few years back - no problem at all and much less hassle than JFK which can be a nightmare.

going to vegas April 2012. Wanting to drive to palm springs and LA for 4 days before returning to vegas. Can anyone recommend a car hire company and a suitable car for 4 adults? Will all of the comapnies allow you to drive to a different state?

4 adults with luggage may mean a reasonably big vehicle?

Have you booked your flights already? If not maybe consider flying into Vegas and out of LA, or into LA and out of Vegas to save the return car journey?

All will allow you to drive to between Nevada and California.

Thanks to this board we almost always use carhire3000.com - they always seem to be cheapest for us and we usually check the others like netflights, etc.

I always used ch3000, but for my last trip, opodo was cheaper.

Super LDW or whatever its called (zero excess) seems to be an optional extra with most hire companies now, and its sold as a separate policy thru a separate company, so you end up paying it and then reclaiming it. Grrrrrrr

I've found Delta flights LHR-LAS-SFO-LHR for £470.

Cx at ATL (outb) then JFK (inbound)

Not too shabby a price methinks for May-June

Concerned that the JFK connection time is 45 mins :eek:
