Well Excited!!!!! 8 of us going with the possibility of my dad and a couple of uncles booking a late package to come and join us, anybody had any experience of PH? Heard some good reviews but also seen some mixed ones on tripadviser.
Thanks for the help and posts, this thread has been invaluable!
I have stayed a few times at PH.
My list of likes;
$20 trick worked every time.
Resort room with fountain view, lovely room, great bathroom.
Good position on strip, easy for Paris,Bally's,Bellagio and Cosmopolitan.
Earl of sandwich...awesome
Miracle mile has ABC store and 'Cheeseburger" restaurant.
Most I've won on a 1cent slot...$1600:)
OK poker room.
In my opinion a good choice for a stag party it's a young crowd and there is the pleasure pit......Not done the club but always seems to be popular.
What type of room did you stay in at MB? Have stayed there once so can offer my opinion in room difference. Overall I prefer PH for its position and atmosphere.0 -
....and of course Holly Madison Peepshow........illegitimi non carborundum0

November / DecemberHow much time required for chngeover at entry point in USA?
I know it has been asked many times but I dont take much notice as it is years since I have done a non direct flight.
Found cheap flights from Norwich, changing at Detroit or Minneapolis both with a 2 hour stop..is that enough generally speaking? I know they will put us on a later flight if need be, but would rather be on the one I am scheduled on.
On the return leg there are some options that only have a 1 hour changeover, surely that isnt enough although I do realise i wont be clearing customs on way home
Depends on how unlucky you are and how many flights land just before you. We barely made it in 2 hours in Detroit at Xmas as we landed after flights from Paris, Amsterdam and Korea. Detroit is also a very long airport and we did a lot of running (no directions to get the tram thing!!). Other times we have walked straight through immigration with no queue but that has been in Chicago where they seem more efficient.0 -

I liked Planet Ho (though I didn't get a $1600 of a 1c slot machine). Quick and easy to get in and out of (except for the timeshare people trying to stop you in your tracks). Worth me re-mentioning that the $20 trick did NOT work for me so we ended up with a 2 Queen, Hollywood Hip room looking out of the back of the hotel. They wanted $20 per night to upgrade me to just a strip view (only there for 3 nights) and told me they were not allowed to do tip'd upgrades.
I suspect the trick failed because there was a 2 hour wait (approx) for a king / non-smoking room so they were clearly busy - valet was full and mainly because it was the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend, however my rate was still average of $45 per night (IIRC) so i didn't really mind that $20 didn't work.
We stuck with what we had been given and made the most of our "Tank Girl" room which we spend very little time in to be honest- i'd suggest if you're on a stag weekend, you'll be in a similar situation
Re: Earl of Sandwich - disappointed to have only just got round to trying this place this time around (due to hearing it mentioned on here a few times)! $5.99 each for a lunchtime meal saved us a few $'s over other options and it tasted nice and fresh.
Here's some room pics:0 -
MayDo the rooms at PH still have next to no storage space for clothes? Our last room, after the refurbishment, only had space for 2-3 nights clothes so useless for the Brits with at least a week's worth. We had a small single wardrobe and either 2 or 3 very small drawers.0

sounds a bit like what can be seen in the last picture? (the section underneath the TV where the safe is, appeared to be missing cupboard doors and potentially some drawers on the right?)
I'll be honest, I didn't use any wardrobes or drawers at all (my clothes rarely make it out of the suitcase - even more so when we have 2 queens!). I know the missus was able to make some use of the storage space but not sure what she put in there0 -
cheers for the reminder - completely forgot about this as had recorded the first one but not the second - here's the links if anyone wants them:

If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

MayYep the TV is at right angles to the bed. The bed was actually facing the window in the room we had.0
