OK I will give you 2 guesses, do you think they went up or down?;)

....Seventeen across. Yes. Seventeen across is wrong. You're spelling his name wrong. What's my name? My name doesn't matter. I'm just an ordinary citizen who relies on the Times crossword for stimulation. And I'm telling you, that I've met the man twice, and I've recommended a preemptive Exocet Missile strike against his airforce. So, I think I know how to...

By such simplistic thinking the price of a transatlantic flight would would be amny tens of thousands of pounds if you looked at limited historical costs.

We always rent with Dollar and being a member of their Express programme makes it that much easier...just go down to the garage - skip the (sometimes hideous) queue at the desk upstairs...even renting through a UK 3rd party we have found we can add my Express number to the booking. Most times they have had my contract printed out already...if not, they will do it then and there.

Snap - this has laways worked for us also, but I've seen the odd report that using Dollar Express through a 3rd party has caused a bit of grief (has it happened to anybody who knows what they are doing?). Sign up ASAP with Dollar and they'll send you a card through the post. If the card doesn't arrive in time, just remember to bring your membership number.

Found good flights nearly direct from Edinburgh (change LHR) good arrival departure times.
Flying into Vegas 7th Aug depart to SF 13th for 5 nights flying back to Edinburgh on 18th.
£880 with either expedia/opodo or from airline directly not much difference. Who is it better to book with?
Reading other posts about package deals this seems to make my flights expensive I know Aug is expensive school holidays etc but I cant get the cost of flight any lower. Anybody any suggestions?

From memory, the way to go is turn right at Mandalay Bay into Koval, and drive up parallel to the strip, going in the back door of MGM, PH, Paris, Venetian, Wynn etc if youre on that side of the road. My favourite road, Koval. Never any traffic. Couple of minutes from Signature to the FSM.

Aye, ours too...I first saw that route at Open Vegas and it has saved us SOOOO much time and annoyance...you actually turn right on Mandalay Bay Road I think, onto Giles and Reno but just following along - which then snakes around the west side of the airport to Koval...it's great.

We have been looking at a similar flight pattern and time of year and a couple of things to note. Prices have gone up considerably since the middle of last week (70 quid or so) - sign up to Kayak or similar and get a daily email to see how prices are varying.

If your trip is flexible, consider flying into SFO and back out of LAS as this will be quite a bit cheaper (generally!)

Whats parking like around Vegas at hotels etc, never hired a car so have never really notice???
Not really very much parking I am afraid. As you know Americans like to walk everywhere or travel by horse and cart, so the hotels decided to use the space they have for more casino area or shopping malls. And of course the strip has the Deuce bus that takes you very very fast up and down the Las Vegas Boulevard for the price of a gum drop. Mind if you did hire a car you would have an easy drive so no need to worry. The strip is almost deserted so even at 10pm the only traffic you would find would be either the Deuce or the trucks with Hot Babes written on them.

    ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

And I am sure someone will be along to answer it sensibly, but not me:D
BTW did you miss the blue circular face winking at you after my post?

Do you remember what the problems were? I can't recall any - and last time, while I'd added my Express number to the booking via CH3000, they didn't have it against the booking...but it wasn't an issue, the woman at the desk just printed out the contract for me, and gave me the option to pre-pay a tank of fuel or not.

As for parking (bad stoneman ;)) in addition to the massive parking garages, valet is free (you should tip though). When we arrive we ALWAYS valet as it's normally very close to check-in. Once we're there, it depends on our hotel...some we self-park (Bally's North Tower, Paris, Encore) as it's convenient...others we don't (Caesars Augustus Tower) as it's not.

I need to look back on last year's thread as some of you advised me on parking at PH...in the end we didn't stay there, but are next trip and I cannot remember what was said...I think PH may be one we'll valet at every time.

Sometimes valet is full though - and that can be extremely annoying.

And Harrah's garage at least - during busy times - will have a guard checking Total Rewards membership for entry...but all parking garages on the Strip (downtown is a bit different) and I'm aware of are free (except the tip for valet)...sure someone mentioned having to pay at Luxor once but no one could quite figure that out.
