    Thanks for the advice guys.

Any information on whether I would be charged for leaving my hotel (Luxor) a day early? Have paid to stay 6 nights but are looking at checkig out after our 5th night and trying the bellagio or venetian on our last night.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
If you have already paid up front, then you will forfeit the night.
Why not just give them a ring?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Hi all

my friend has an american sim card he is going to lend us for our trip on sunday but I am having massive problems with my handset. if I unlock it, i will lose most of my pictures as the albums on my phone are a mess, and the pics and vids are split between the external and internal memory card

my question is, will there be anywhere to purchase an americal cell phone while we are there? I checked walmart, but everything said its not available for sale in stores... argh frustrating..

    Can anyone recommend anything? (soon?)

    Thanks! :)

Net 10 phones are available at 7/11's, Walmart, CVS and Walgreens. They usually come with 300 minutes and cost around $20.

Just found out Penn & Teller show cancelled. Noticed a credit back to my card so rang Rio and they confirmed they've cancelled mid Oct thru to November.
The annoying thing is because of the change in the exchange rate, I've actually lost £5 through no fault of my own.
What's the Vegas odds that they don't refund the difference !!!

Oh well this is just bloody typical!
Just when we manage to find a show that most of our wedding party have agreed they'd like to see the go and cancel the shows while we are there - !!!!!!!

Back to the drawing board.... maybe a cirque show instead!?

    Hi,

The Las Vegas sign - never been and done that - yet! Think we should this time. How far from the Mandalay Bay is it, should you just get a taxi? There will be 4 adults and one child, but thinking if we're at M Bay then wonder if it is walkable, I'm thinking not or we would have done it before?

On our first two trips to Las Vegas we visited the sign and we walked both times - however, we are BIG walkers and we were staying at the north end of the strip. Whilst tiring, we enjoyed the long walk there and back.

From MB, I personally would definately walk it - it's about 15mins depending on your pace? However, you mentioned your child - you'd need to consider this firstly because obviously they struggle to walk for longer periods and secondly because the sign is literally in the middle of the road. You'll need to make a quick dash across to make it in front of it, which again may not necessarily be child friendly.

    Hope this helps a little.

wait until you have your hire car and then drive there and park at the sign in the new car park in middle of road

To those who have been to the canyon can you offer any advice/opinions on which would be better....West or South rim?

I'm happy to drive to the south and have a night over there if that would be the better option. Driving doesn't bother me at all. It depends what there is to do there on the night time and how much more impressive the canyon is i guess.

Personally I'm not a fan of helicopters...I would consider a trip on one or a small plane but I think i'd rather do it another way.

    Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi Porthorg
First time we went we did the plane tour and hated it, half the plane were throwing up (luckily not us but wife really felt bad) Second time we drove to the west rim and we are doing that again in 2 weeks. I love the way you can just sit on the edge and dangle your feet off the edge. My parents did the south rim on a coach tour and the pictures all had railings in them which would have spoilt it for me.

Ha! you can also see why the cowboys won, that chap in the white has a target pinned to his forehead?

Knee brace and Nike shorts part of the traditional native dress.

So wrong on so many levels, sorry but work is driving me to distraction.
