Has anyone got any opinions of the Aria please? We are booking to get married at the Bellagio early next October and trying to find a nice hotel to stay at, not 100% about the Bellagio for a week?

Can anyone help please? DH and I are going to Vegas, staying at Cosmo at end of September. We have been desperately trying to book helicopter over the Grand Canyon (ideally with limo from hotel), for my 30th Birthday, but for some reason, payment won't go through!

We don't have credit cards, so have tried to pay on debit card. Not sure if this is the problem or whether its because its a US site.

I assumed it would be cheaper to book before we go, but time is ticking on and I;m getting stressed!!!
I am afraid that you will need a credit card to book from here.
There are loads of guys selling GC trips along the strip, in fact they usually stand on the opposite side of the sidewalk to the Cosmo towards Walmart (face the strip from Cosmo, turn right and across the road) where you can get a good deal sometimes, and pay in cash.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Thanks stoneman - if we book on say the Friday, are we likely to be able to get a trip for the Sunday or do they get booked up?

I'm staying at Aria on Friday so I'll let you know. Stayed at the Mandarin at Xmas and that was very nice and would probably be good if you're getting married as it's right next door to Aria but much quieter.

    Hi All,
I hope you don't mind another long time lurker asking for advice....
A group of five of us are going to Vegas for the first time on the 10th November for 5 nights. We are looking to stay centre of the strip and have yet to book our hotel. I saw a deal for the Flamingo (seemed to get good reviews) Go Deluxe room for £362 (5 nights) about a month ago but it would not let me book, by the time I had rung the Flamingo the deal was pulled.
I have tried to find another deal but the prices seem to have shot up. Not really fussed about hotel, more the location. (obviously we would like a nice a hotel as possible ;-)) I checked on the LV convention website and it looks like a relatively quiet weekend for Vegas but prices for all hotels seem very expensive for this weekend for some reason... have I left it too late to find a good deal? Should I wait for another 'deal' or book something now? Last Minute have a deal @ TI for £438/room....
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

12th November Boxing Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez at MGM

    That will push prices up

Friday the 11th is a bank holiday (Veteran's Day) - so likely a lot of people are taking advantage of the long weekend.

oooh, and a fight weekend per Penny's post...that's going to be a double hit I would think.

The 12th Nov is the Mayweather v Ortiz fight at the MGM, these big fights push the prices all round, to stay mid strip you'll have to suck it up I'm afraid.

I don't think the casinos could change paybacks based on whether you have a players card in the machine or not...not sure that the Nevada Gaming Commission would accept that.

It does seem like that sometimes...but both of our biggest wins were on machines we had our card in ($1000+).

Server-based slots may change things somewhat, but everything would still need to be approved by the NGC...and just not sure if they would agree to something like that - it would fundamentally change things...remember that casinos want your loyalty...so doing something that means you won't favour XX casinos over another would not be to their benefit...so if a casino DID drop paybacks for people using their cards and that got out, everyone would stop and there would be no loyalty anymore...they wouldn't want that I wouldn't think.

I do think that joining players clubs can be worth it even for those not planning on playing much - especially if you choose wisely which casino you join at - so you get the best freebie. One of my friends loves his collection of players cards he got on his trip to Vegas. :)
