MarchI didnt know you could sign up online for the riviera, although I assume you will still need to go the members desk to get your free buffet coupon?
I know sometimes online sign-ups get the same freebies...but have heard too many stories of people getting stiffed to try it...I figure that if you have to go to the booth with your ID to pick up the card there's no real benefit in signing up online...unless it's to take advantage of some sort of members-only offer (like with MGM hotels in the past)>Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
OctoberTahiti all-suites. Want it for the satnav when we venture out
Thanks
Copilot u.s.a. is available for android at $4.99, map downloads straight onto your phone, so no need for data.
I have an iPhone and it works great on thatThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

AugustAnybody know about tax on winnings? My earlier excitement about my mum winning $1000, went to collect and got taxed 30%. I had a win of $1600 in April and didn't get taxed, why would it be different? Not usually a problem worrying about getting taxed on winnings as never usually win!!
The rules state 'All applicable taxes to the winning of any prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner'
Thank you x0 -
MarchI wonder if the winnings would not be considered gambling winnings - if it was a drawing and the ticket wasn't purchased...regardless
Some casinos will do the paperwork for visitors who come from tax treaty companies (so they don't have to withhold the 30%) and some won't. If your win in April was on a slot, then I assume that you got a tax form from the casino - and that would have your ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) on it...so the casino effectively gets the ITIN for you - unless you had it already, fills out the form and gives you all the money.
Your mum should be able to claim it back at least.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AugustThanks for the replies. Yes my win was on a slot and PH filled all forms for me (1c wicked winnings on a $1 bet, best win I've had!) Had a look on the website luci but don't really understand it all! Far too many forms....
So to claim back do we need to fill forms in here and would we get those from casino or wait till we get home?
Thanks again. I wasnt with her when she collected so didn't ask questions.0 -
does anyone use BA miles to pay part or in full for their flights?
long story but my dad & oh's big birthdays are a day apart in 2013, so we are thinking of a surprise vegas trip. seeing as it is so far away, we were gona bust a gut to stock up on tesco vouchers to redeem for miles!
any opinions welcome.
i have been to vegas last year & flew direct with BA - i think i would like to do it this way again.
money is very tight as i am getting married next year, so very little savings at the mo in the vegas pot!
i should also have asked do the miles expire? i seen on the website that my membership ends 8th dec this year.
thanks0
