JulyWizbit...Did you have a go on the bull in Cadillac Ranch at Town Square? We went this week with a restaurant.com voucher, my son loved the mechanical bull, I wanted a go but one of those things you do when you've had a few and I hadn't!
It was a good evening at Town square it was state national night. The emergency service vehicles, squat team van, csi van etc were there for people to go in and look around, all sorts of activities going on and live band on. Didn't know this was happening so landed lucky it was free and really interesting.
No sadly not as we went at lunchtime and there were only 4 customers in so it was, in a word, dead!!! Would like to go back in the evening next year though.
Sad to have missed that State National Night, would have been really interested to have seen all of that stuff. I have a feeling it was whilst we were still on the honeymoon part of our trip so we would have been in Mexico :-(:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
OctoberIn&Out Burger - 9/10, went to 2 different locations, the one off Trop is much quieter than the one by Russell. Also got to go in the merchandise shop at the Russell location, all good :-)
Why didn't it get a 10!?
Pop's Cheese Steak (Off Strip) -8/10, small establishment off Spring Mountain Road. Nice for a quick lunch of Philly Cheese Steaks
Criky, didn't know anyone else knew about that place.
Hot & Juicy Crawfish (Chinatown, Off Strip) - 9/10, so good we went twice!!! After seeing it on Man vs. Food we descided to give it a go. Super tasty, peel-your-own shrimp.Very basic decor and not for the faint-hearted :-) Youtube it for more info
We wanted to go there but all the reports are that the food is really spicy, is there a plain option?
Best Ice Cream....Cold Stone Creamery @ Excalibur. My new favourite :-) cannot wait to return here
Used to go there all the time when we stayed down that end of the strip, fabulous place, just can't justify getting the car out and the trek. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
MarchDont get me wrong, the meal was 'ok', its just not really our scene (we went with friends who were over for our wedding and had a little one). We'd normally steer clear of such family friendly places when we're away, but for what it is and who it's for, then yeah, it's great.
ah, OK, I see your point. We've never really thought if it that way, and have never really had loads of kids around us when we have gone...that would have coloured our opinion of it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We wanted to go there but all the reports are that the food is really spicy, is there a plain option? Absolutely - I had the mild garlic seasoning as I'm not good with spices, but you can have an even milder one called 'less then mild'. You MUST go here, it's fantastic (just dont wear good clothes and get your nails done after not before!!)

I know what you mean - we were staying just off Strip down that end first then at the Mandarin Oriental so it wasn't too much of a trek TBH, so glad I went but now have to shut up about it!:)

Maycloudy_nines, check https://www.travelzoo.com for the shows as I see Le Reve is back on there when it disappeared last week.
We had a great time with Scoot City. I'm glad we opted for the Sunday morning slot as you drive on the streets before you get to Red Rock Canyon and it was dead at that time. Wouldn't have liked to do it when the traffic was busy. You feel a bit vulnerable in the little cars when huge trucks are passing you.
It probably won't apply when you are there, but we made sure we were wrapped up with hoodies and jeans and it paid off in early May at that time of day. It was so cold that a guy in our group had to pay over the odds for a sweatshirt at Red Rock as he only had on shorts and a T-shirt.
Hubby struggled a bit with the controls to start with as it is like a motorbike rather than a car, but was fine after he got used to them.0 -
For those of you who are into American Football, the open training sessions for the UNLV rebels start this week. Full scrimmages are not for another week or two.
Tickets for individual games are on sale now for their games (Sep onwards).0 -

November / DecemberAfter what happened yesterday (which I dont really understand at all) I'm considering buying dollars now just incase they go down, as they have from last night when I checked. I was going to buy 300 pound worth now which at the moment is 480 dollars, and then buy 400 at the end of the month when I get paid again. I think I should post this somewhere else but I'm not sure, and I know you all usually give the best answers. Is the ICE website the best to order these on? and is it safe? If so, can someone give me the website for this so I know I'm definitely using the right one.
I'd like to ask if it's a good idea to buy now but I think I will be told that we do not have a crystal ball and can't tell!0 -

I check travelzoo quite often but hadn't in awhile, so this was a good reminder. INterestingly, the Divas Las Vegas deal that says good through Aug appears to be working into September - thought I would check to see and it's saying $27.50 for the date I checked.
Off to coerce the hubby.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
