I will use a taxi if necessary but I figure that may be a nightmare on the way back!
Any tips gratefully received.
Public Transport to LVSM??? No sorry it's going to have to be taxi/rental car/or sometimes companies organize shuttle buses picking up from a couple of strip locations. This depends though on the program running.0 -

As Dee says public transport prob isnt an option, a hire car is your best bet, its a long way from the strip, I imagine a taxi would be expensice, especially if you are stuck in traffic
there you go its about 16 miles from the middle of the strip and about $50 in a taxi not accounting for traffic

Yeah it has taken me over 3 hours sometimes to drive from home (about 20 miles away) to LVMS  ......coming home seems to be slightly easier though.0 -

AugustOkay - we are off to Vegas on Sunday for a week. Wife, and two boys 9 and 12 in tow.
We are staying at the Tahiti Village for 4 nights then the Trop for 3 nights - both have great pools for the kids.
We are foodies rather than gamblers - so this is the focus of our entertainment in the evenings.
Anyone been to The Prime Rib Loft in the Orleans - can I take the boys there or is it a gambling zone?
I think we will go to Buffet at the Bellagio too - any tips -champagne lunch or dinner?
Finally, the Cheesecake Factory.
All of them are well reviewed on the likes of TA etc.
Can we dress in shorts?
Any advice/tips welcome....
Im currently in Vegas with my boys 9 and 13. We go to the cheescake factory at The District at GVR as mentioned in earlier post. We have been a couple of times and only had to wait 5 mins or so and thats probably because there is sometimes 10 of us. I like wondering round the district it has a very different feel to it than the strip. They do outdoor movies for families on a Saturday night (https://www.thedistrictatgvr.com) Also GVR casino is at the top which has a small arcade and a cinema.
I prefer Wynn buffet to Bellagio and also like wicked spoon at cosmo as its served a little differently but everybody has different opinions on the buffets.
The boys enjoyed the indoor skydiving (near Wynn) you could have buffet then do that or maybe do it other way round!:)0 -

I was interested (we like the place and already have a restaurant.com voucher we were planning on using next month but could park that)...but hubby can't or won't eat 2 of the 3 starters and the 3rd is of no interest...and he can't/won't eat 3 of the mains and the 4th is of minimal interest to him...plus the sparkling wine is lost on us...but could be a good deal if the selections suited.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayWe had a great meal on the Envy deal last time it was available. However we had petit filet mignon which was delicious, but I see that's not an option this time.0

Exactly...that's the 4th main that's of little interest...think I had the ribeye last time and OMG so good...if they had the petit filet like they did on Luci's deal the main might be sorted, but we still have the appetizer issue.
Getting excited now - hubby finally got a Wynn offer that covered our dates so have cancelled our last 2 nights at Bally's and will move to Encore...he's like a kid at Christmas, he's been waiting for an offer that doesn't end 5 days before we arrive all summer.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
What offer did you get?0
