hey - is Stuie back yet? Have I missed his trip report...I can't see it...I will be sad if he doesn't pop back to tell us how it all went...I know we got the first bit but was looking forward to the rest.

I was wondering the same but last time I asked about Mooky's TR and as far as I know hasn't posted since didn't want to jinx it again!

Was looking forward to hearing about Stuie's wedding and if he enjoyed Vegas.

I think stuie was going to Orlando after Vegas for a couple of weeks?

Anyway is there to much pressure for trip reports

I have been a resident on here for as long as the vegas thread has been running but I dont do trip reports, so maybe others get put off coming back here because they keep getting asked for reports

    Just a thought:o

Its bloody hot here today. just got in from the pool and its currently around 105f and rising.

Princess jane, the electric daisy festival looks great, cracking line up, but i really wouldnt fancy a couple of days raving in this heat, its getting hotter this week and although it will cool to about 102 later in the week it seems like a recipe for disaster to have a festival here in those temperatures. It's already creating a lot of negative publicity on the local news channels here.

Off to stripburger for lunch shortly then hopefully gona pick up tickets for penn and teller tonight.

Last night at the cosmo tonight :o( then off to NYNY for 3 comped nights and doris' chance to win $20k in the slot tourny this weekend.

No pressure in my opinion, didn't ask them to do it, Mooky started hers and said she would continue and Stuie said he would post whilst out there and do a more in depth one when he got back. Don't expect people to do a TR at all, I understand its not something everybody wants to do, I just like hearing Vegas stories :)

Just curious...has anyone flew with BA direct from Heathrow? If so, hows the flight and the entertainment on board?

2 weeks until I go pretty much so of course I'm looking forward to the trip now :D

We've done it a couple of times. No problems with the flight according to hubby (I slept the whole flight there and back). A decent amount of recent films. Alcohol is free.

You get dinner a couple of hours after take off and a snack about 90-120 mins before landing.

The food on the return the first time was rank and neither of us could eat it, but it wasn't bad last time.

This is based on the B777 flight and it's now a 747, but I would expect the service to the the same.

Only complaint was that we checked in online for the return flight and still had to queue for 30 mins at bag drop even though we were among the first there and there were only about 6 people in front of us. The queue for those that hadn't checked in was much quicker which is the opposite of what it should be.

I am the media I'm afraid, so I'm hoping nothing happens or I might be moonlighting for the US news (that's a joke boss if you're reading *quivers*)

aw, I never thought of it that way...I guess I like just a few lines to a full blown novel - anything really...I hope that no one avoids this place because they feel pressured..and while you may never have done a blow-by-blow trip report - you have come by after a trip and given us your highlights - that counts as a trip report to me. :)

A friend told us that when she went the waitress took so long to bring drinks back that they had often moved on?

It has happened to us...I don't like to wait - I like to feel free to move around...I play slots...if I am sitting waiting for a drink I will keep playing...dangerous...so I rarely order a drink from the cocktail waitress. But it depends on where and when - sometimes you will get asked if you want a drink every 5 or 10 minutes - sometimes you never see a waitress...sometimes you order and they are back in a flash...other times you give up. I think the tip when you order the first round thing works - at least everyone I know who has tried it has had good success.

I'm off to Vegas tomorrow - three nights at the Platinum Spa, which I got for $99 a night after seeing an offer on here.

Wanted to thank whoever posted it, as it looks like an amazing place.

I'm out there for a three-day dance festival, so probably won't see many of the (daytime) sights.

A couple of people have recommended getting beauty treatments done out there, as they are cheaper than at home, but all the ones I've seen online are quite pricey.

Don't have a lot of spends, but there's a kitchen in the apartment and it sounds like you can eat out on the cheap.

Have stayed at Platinum a few times and love it. We are booked for 4 nights this year, but might extend, depending on price. If anyone knows any good offers, please post them. I'd be glad to hear of any deals going on right now, for September specifically.

    Have a great time!!!

Got flights and hotel for 14 nights in september. Although flight is indirect will take about 15 hrs all in from manchester. We are travelling with U,S airlines. Has anyone travelled with this airline and is it ok? Not sure if drinks are at an extra charge? We were trying to book flight and hotel seperate but it was sooo expensive £700-£800 just for the flight! Managed to get a package for £900 each staying at the Vdara hotel. However there is an extra charge of $20 per day as the resort fee to pay at the end of our holidayNot sure if thats a good deal or not? Can't wait for sunny Vegas :j
