interesting! can't say i've seen 4 wheeled ones in the flesh before, will keep an eye out :T

honestly...best thing ever...rather than dragging them around behind you, you can just pretty much push them alongside you with almost no effort...we still make a big deal about this every time we use them - pushing our case along with one finger 'look at me, pushing my case with one finger again!'..it just makes the schlepping around the airport that much easier.

I think maybe we need to get out more as much excitement as we get out of these cases.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We are off next week and booked the cosmo with BA and it included breakfast at the wicked spoon - do you think that means we now get a free brunch???

I just got back from the Cosmo...loved it. View from Premium Terrace is amazing and the rooms are just awesome.

Regarding the breakfast we were'nt expecting free but on check in I was told they are at the min for inernational travellers. I called down one day as we were running late and asked what time that was until and I was told 11am.

Dunno if its illegal, but even hotels over here often state that you are not allowed to consume your own booze.

I've never seen that in any hotel I've ever stayed in, especially in your own room.

Bringing your own beer into the bar or restaurant, then fair enough, but not in your room.

I agree with you about the cases being easier (I also agree you should get out more :D) but the wheels look like they could be easily broken when thrown around by baggage handlers, whereas the 2 wheel version the wheels are hidden partly by the case IYSWIM

We have had out own beer in every room we have stayed in in Vegas (always on show, usually a can or 2 in the ice bucket), never had an issue.

    Go via the AA website

    www.theaa.com/hertz

Stick in your AA number and away you go. Sign up for the Hertz #1 club, copy the CDP code from your AA link and every time you then request a quote it will give the AA discount automatically.

100+ quid cheaper that Dollar, 50 quid cheaper than Carhire3000 and thats with the additional driver vs bog standard (no additional driver/tank of fuel)

Missed the AA bit, , Just checked the site and they do offer a 5% discount to everyone, but on checking those prices for my hire in Aug they are more expensive than CH3000 and on clicking the link for an additional driver it says it is available at the counter on pick up.

Do you only get an extra driver if you are a member

Has anyone here ever used Thrifty for car rental, picking up at LAS? I've seen Dollar mentioned a fair bit, but Thrifty not so much.

We've never had any experience with them before but booked via netflights they're coming up as the cheapest I can find for what we're looking for...£255 for a 14 day rental in a full size (Dodge Charger or similar) from LAS to SAN. Just wondering if anyone here has ever had a car from them and how you found them compared to anyone else - better/worse/pretty similar?

Also, reading netflights T&C I don't *think* there will be any one way fee on top of the prices we've been quoted, but if anyone has ever used them and can confirm this to put my mind at rest I would be grateful.
    Excluded from our Rates

Our rates do not include one way rental fees (see One Way Rentals below)...

    One Way Rentals

A one way rental is any hire where the drop-off depot is different from where the vehicle was collected. One way rentals are available on a request and confirmation basis only, and will incur a "One Way Fee" based on the distance, in miles, between the two depots and not the distance driven during the hire. These fees are shown below.

These one way Fee's are paid on collection of the vehicle, it isn't possible to pre pay these.

Please Note - There is no fee for one way rentals within the states of Florida and California, or for one way rentals between the states of California, Arizona and Nevada.

I doubt we'll be up in time but the odd day it will be nice to be able to go for breakfast as it's included. We're going for the WSOP build up so if I'm not still in a tournament until the early hours I will be disappointed!!!

I've always looked at people with the four wheeled case and wondered why I've never purchased one! Need to get one next time and give it a go.

Rgearding drinking in your hotel - I've never had a problem having beer in my hotel rooms in Palazzo, Bellagio, Mirage and from someone I spoke to who stayed in the MGM. They wouldnt even know if you got the drinks from a hotel bar..!
