So excited going to vegas this wednesday flying with Virgin from Manchester and staying at the Paris. Many many thanks for all the information you have provided on here there are too many of you to mention by name but i am so grateful to you all. If it had not been for this site i would not have known about rest.com vouchers, the 20dollar trick when checking in and soooooo much more. This is my first post but i have been reading thru for quite some time, i hope when i get back i will have something to contribute. Once again many thanks.
Welcome to the board. BTW when using the $20 trick I much prefer to ask for a "P" room rather than a "Red room". If you are only after a fountain view room just ask for it without the tip.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Just a reminder for anyone who's having breakfast at the MGM buffet. They have an Early Bird price before 9am which was $10 off the weekend brunch. I think it might be $5 off during the week.

tax is 12% on hotels...prices in the US aren't inclusive of taxes but usually on the reservations screen it gives the total for your stay, taxes, and grand total - ...most hotels will put a daily deposit hold on your card unless they give the option to pay a cash deposit or decline room charging priviledges - it's a standard thing.
Yes. Wasnt sure what the tax was in vegas for hotels. On the ones ive booked in san Francisco it was 14.5%

Problem with the cosmo offer was that no price was comming up on the booking screen, only price you got was on the screen before with the different rooms

As I'm often wide awake at 5am and more than ready for breakfast by 7 that's really useful -Thanks Luci

    So what does that mean?

it means you can't use any of the discount codes that may be about - so you have to pay full price for the voucher for those restaurants that don't allow promo codes to be used.

Still means that you can get a $25 voucher for $10 (if that's what they normally cost)...but when you used to be able to get it for $2 with an 80% off code, it's not as good of a deal as it was.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Weird - normally there's a screen with a total which also normally includes the estimated tax...maybe something weird about the offer you were looking to book?

Argh suitcase buying is so frustrating, you see something reviewed as half decent but then someone says "actual measurements much smaller than advertised on site" grr

Partner and I each need a main case and a hand luggage case.
Saw a nice small case on Argos, much below Virgins limit of 56 x 36 x 23, but theres a 6kg limit anyway, so can pack small heavier things in that one :)

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2863881/Trail/searchtext%3ESUIT+CASE.htm#pdpFullProductInformation

Need a main case each without paying over the odds. Can anyone recommend? our max weight is 23kg each case.

whenever I see that, I wonder if the measurements included the handle/wheels...which the airline will...so maybe they aren't smaller than advertised, but the reviewer is measuring from the wrong place?

luggage is something I like to see and feel and test out before buying, but the link you posted to the hand-luggage sized one does get good reviews...seems quite inexpensive though so I would wonder how long it would hold up...we're quite happy with what we bought at a Samsonite outlet - though they weren't cheap, we feel they were good value and will last ages...we would never go back to 2 wheels now that we've been spoiled by 4. :)

Thanks again, ferf. I said this to the OH but she isn't afraid to get argos staff to get the item and let us check it out in store before buying,

I try to keep up with thread but its moving quickly! will be here again more often
