most hotels have a business centre and whilst I have a lappy etc I don't have a printer, I pop into the business centre and log on and print my boarding card, if you check your hotels resort fees and what they contain a few provide check-in and boarding card printing as part of the offer.

Otherwise most have a pay PC station where you can do the same. Usually costs about $3-$4, last resort nip into an apple shop and 'try out' a pc and check-in.

there's also an internet/printer terminal in the Miracle Mile shopping centre at the front of PH. If you enter by the main entrance off the Strip (by Cabo Wabo), after about 10secs there's a small walkway on the left handside (leading to toilets possibly?)... and the terminal's there, like one of the free-standing ATMs you get in pubs/post offices. Was only a couple of dollars for ample web-time and printing.

You should check in online 24 hours ahead to make sure you get nice seats but so long as you have checked in at the airport 2 hours before they can't give away your reservation.

The people you work with are either idiots or have a nasty sense of humour ! (Probably just jealous cos they'll be stuck at work whilst you have fun)

Many thanks for all replies! Not sure what my work mates intended, maybe just making sure I will get safely back to work:)
Glad I don't have to worry about it!

with the Sahara closing down, are all its associated attractions closing down too, e.g. the Nascar cafe, rollercoaster, etc.?

It may well be worth getting first hand info from someone currently out there....

According to the Paul Carr Vegas blog (day 3) the rollercoaster has already closed down.

IIRC NASCAR cafe and the rollercoaster were leased to some third party and I remember there was some sort of legal action a few years ago between the hotel and the company involved.

So while the statement Sam Thingy put out said that the hotel would remain 100% open until closing day, as the hotel doesn't own the attractions (assuming that's still the case), Paul Carr may be right, or, like ourselves, he simply went there when the coaster was not due to be operational!

The Sahara website still has opening hours etc listed.

I would have thought most people here would miss the NASCAR cafe (and the burrito challenge) more than the coaster...

Oh, one thing that nobody has mentioned yet. As you are flying with AA out of Vegas they use self service check-in facilities so you don't need to have anything printed out at the hotels etc

Look at the AA.com website for details on what it all about.

Anyone flown from Manchester to Vegas with Thomas Cook, economy, just wondered what your experience was?

  • Hi, my girlfriend and I have just booked up for a week in the luxor on the 24th of november which I have just found out is thanks giving. Has anyone experienced thanks giving in las vegas, any recommendations? Also what is the pyramid deluxe room like in the luxor and how much would it cost for an upgrade?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Last time was 2 years ago. No problems, much better legroom in economy than most carriers. Clientele on a par with a London Virgin flight.

Check it doesn't stop in Glasgow on the way (quite a few people have reported that happening). IIRC TC now factor food into the base price so you can no longer opt out and still ask/get the meal.

2 years ago paid just under 300 quid for the flight, time before that 130!!! Sigh - now we use AA out of Manchester via NY.

I've found flights from Manchester supposedly direct (I'll double check if it stops off via Glasgow) for £499...just debating whether to go for it or not...:o

As I said, I was told by an airline (cant remember which one) a few years back that I had to confirm my return flight 24 hours beforehand, which I did by phone. I wasnt told they would resell my seat and I havent been asked to do it for a few years!

    Was only trying to help

The best rooms at Luxor are in the tower but IMO if you are staying there you really should experience the pyramid, An upgrade to ask for (if you want one) would be a pyramid spa room for a $20 tip
