Excellent ! I have cursed myself for not going ahead and booking tickets when we had the chance, so maybe this time around.

And who has considered today's Groupon?

I thought my hubby would trip over himself to get it booked, but he's waffling...the fact that you have to choose a bull dozer OR an excavator has put him off - he reckons if he could do both, it would be a must do...though as it's so new, hard to find reviews other than other locations.

    http://www.groupon.com/deals/dig-this

Playing on heavy machinery is one of childhood's many taboos, along with sleeping in discarded refrigerators. Bend the rules for your inner child with today's Groupon: for $149, you get a Big Dig at Dig This Heavy Equipment Playground (a $400 value).
Dig This Heavy Equipment Playground is one of America's only heavy-equipment playgrounds, allowing average citizens to pilot enormous Caterpillar construction equipment. Situate yourself behind the controls of a 315 Excavator or a D5G Bull Dozer for a Big Dig—three hours of annihilation in a sandbox for grownups. The dig begins with a 15-minute instruction on cab controls and communication techniques, after which machinists can stretch their motorized muscles by moving boulders, stacking tires, digging holes, and performing heavy-equipment jam band sessions. Cabs are air conditioned, allowing for comfortable construction experiences any time of the year. Invite along family, friends, or a surly renovation contractor to gawk and take pictures from the nearby viewing area. Participants must be 18 or older and must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.

ah, I must have missed it...I also think we've decided that 3 hours seems quite a long time...1 hour for $50 might be more realistic.

Thanks for the reminder, yes I would second that. Also on the lunch buffet there is a large sandwich making section. Top recommendation:beer:

I will definitely be going there. Sandwiches and dessert is a win for me. Yumyum

Well, we finally booked our trip tonight! Flying out on Fri 9th September for 4 nights in San Francisco and then onto Vegas on Tues 13th for 14 nights :beer::beer: We are flying indirect with Air Canada both ways and the internal flight is with Continental. Flights were £655 each, would have been a lot less with just a return to Vegas or if we had booked 5 months ago, but hey ho. I have been checking prices daily for about the last 3 weeks with no change, so just decided to go for it.

Let the planning commence - the good bit!!

Oh and the Aria has good desserts. They are made by Jean-Phillipe Patisserie.

A couple of days late, announced on the 15th, Paul McCartney plays the MGM on the 10th June. Ticket links via his website, not looked at availability but prices from $118, 4 days since the announcement I would imagine tickets are scarce.

Vegas is one of those places that even "sold out" events seem to get a lot of returns at the box-office. Few years ago Coldplay were at MGM when we were in Vegas . The guy we went with and my son both wanted to go-nothing at the box office a few days before -but I went back to them two hours before the show and got them very decent tickets at facevalue.

I hate those signs, not from the outside but if you get a room with it over the window, it makes the room very dark and obscures the view. I asked, and got moved from a front room at Flamingo to a side room fountain view
