    In the Vdara now.
    Got a kitchen with cooker and fridge but no coffee maker or kettle.
    Would love to be able to make a cup of tea.
    Seems quite empty in here.
    Got a lively view of the strip and fountains.

    Vdara is defo a chondo (Condotel) -they just didn't sell anywhere near as many condos as they had hoped. Anyone know what's happening with the class lawsuits against MGM from digruntled buyers?

    Great deals for the Vdara at the moment. Rooms from $119 and for a 2+ night stay you get 2 tickets to Viva Elvis AND $50 resort credit per day. Resort fee is same/similar to the Signature - ie no free drinks! (rather than the slightly more expensive Aria resort fee where you get a couple of drinks)

    Watch out for the death ray!

    I think I heard the M buffet may have self service drinks but that included wine and beer too -Not tried it but I'm sure someone who has will confirm (or tell me I'm going crazy :) )

    M buffet has servers for the soft drinks, and a little bar for the wine and beer. You have to go up yourself for that.

    The self service places in the casino have gone. I'm sad about that, I thought it was a great idea.

    They did but as was mentioned to me previously that's a service no longer provided, saw for myself in March, so just had to settle for a jumbo hotdog, nachos and coke in the deli by the sports book, be careful to realise the implications when answering yes to "with everything?"

    I opted for the coconut ice cream from the little coffe shop when we visited M 2 weeks ago. It was lush :cool: Now, I want a hot dog though..... :(

    Was that in Babycakes, always walked past it (with determination) otherwise I'd probably end up as a parody of the nun in father Ted who stayed in the preists house to help them observe lent. An image that even makes me shudder. It's not a 'habit' I'm used to.

    YOU have a green card -you can think....the rest of us can just dream ;)
    LOL, I have a U.S. passport. As I have mentioned before we just missed out on moving there just before the crash, but fate stepped in.
    I was green with desire at watching it too. What a come down from a few years ago.
    The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    :rotfl: It sure was. The ice cream was lovely! They also do some of the cakes in little mini versions. Can't remember which one I had, but it was lovely too..... :rotfl:

    Hi, I was hoping some one could help me, this August is going to be my first visit to Vegas and I’ve been booking the hotels, flights ect on my own direct with the hotels. I received my confirmation for the Mirage the other day and I am slightly confused about this part:
    The rate quoted is an AVERAGE RATE for your stay; actual rates per day may vary
    So does this mean that the price at which is stated on the email and that I thought I was paying will not be the price I pay when i get there? Sorry to be naive but this is the first time I’ve done this. Thanks in advance Emmie

    no, it's literally saying that they have quoted you an average rate for your dates.

    So say you're they're Mon --> Fri (4 nights) -->
    Mon = $100
    Tues = $100
    Weds = $200
    Thursday = $200

    Then the average daily rate will be $150 ($100 + $100 + $200 + $200... divide by 4 = $150)

    A lot of hotels give you the average over multiple nights :) - the price you see is the price you pay (plus resort fee)

    I can't remember coming across an MGM property that lists an Average Rate? Did you book though a third party and if you did - who? All the MGM properties I've booked lately show an "Amount of Stay" that includes 12% room tax plus resort fee (plus tax).

    I'm sure it will be fine.

    Can anyone clue me in with a few things...

    I looked at going to Vegas a couple of years back but it fell through. Things have changed since then.

    To try the $20 sandwich upgrade does it matter when you get to the hotel ?
    I'm looking at the prices on offer at MGM Grand for the end of Nov, but can't find a flight that gets in much before 7 or 8 in the evening, or are there so many rooms it make no difference ?
    Any recommendations for flights? I'm looking at the Delta site, which is coming in at around £400 a head indirect, any better deal direct?

    And finally, can one tell me if the MGMG had good pool! My wife wants to spend at least a day just by the pool chilling out! (yes, I know!)...

    Thanks.
