    Mortgage-free Glee!
    July
    Afternoon all,

I vaguely remember someone mentioning a journalist or blogger of some sort going for a 33 day sortie to Vegas where he planned to stay in every hotel on the Strip. Can anyone point me in the direction of said blog or do I have to squeeze onto the dreamer bench as well?

    Cheers,

    Billy

Hi, I was hoping some one could help me, this August is going to be my first visit to Vegas and I’ve been booking the hotels, flights ect on my own direct with the hotels. I received my confirmation for the Mirage the other day and I am slightly confused about this part:
The rate quoted is an AVERAGE RATE for your stay; actual rates per day may vary
So does this mean that the price at which is stated on the email and that I thought I was paying will not be the price I pay when i get there? Sorry to be naive but this is the first time I’ve done this. Thanks in advance Emmie

I have a current Mirage booking valid for August and it does indeed say the rate quoted is an average rate for your stay..BUT above that it does give the total amount of stay..in my case $275 for 3 nights or about $63 plus tax plus resort fee per night.

it also gives room type and the amount of deposit paid, have a look at the top of your confirmation just below the confirmation number

Can anyone clue me in with a few things...

I looked at going to Vegas a couple of years back but it fell through. Things have changed since then.

To try the $20 sandwich upgrade does it matter when you get to the hotel ?
I'm looking at the prices on offer at MGM Grand for the end of Nov, but can't find a flight that gets in much before 7 or 8 in the evening, or are there so many rooms it make no difference ?
Any recommendations for flights? I'm looking at the Delta site, which is coming in at around £400 a head indirect, any better deal direct?

And finally, can one tell me if the MGMG had good pool! My wife wants to spend at least a day just by the pool chilling out! (yes, I know!)...

    Thanks.

£400 a flight is fantastic...book it or lose it. Its rare to find one under £500 these days even with a stop.

I dont like the MGM its to big and they can never find me a room that I have requested, usuallly non smoking 2 queens, you wouldnt think it would be a problem with 5500 rooms !!!

Check in time doesnt matter to much trying the $20 trick but it never works at the MGM (well not for me and not for many others from reading the various forums) and if you are staying a week at one hotel it will also make the $20 trick more difficult.

The pool at MGm is one of the best along with Flamingo, Mandalay Bayy and Caesers...BUT the end of November isnt pool weather unless you sit round the pool in a coat;), A lot of pools will be closed by then

Nothing wrong with chilling by the pool, we spend a lot of time around the pool, but as I said you really will be chilled rather than chilling

    Thanks.

you sure thats the price including taxes & fees, on the Delta site, the total flight price is in smaller figures underneath the "from" price
