I think the Wynn is lovely-but for a first time stay in Vegas I think nothing beats the thrill of staying mid Strip.
Save the Wynn for your second trip ;)

Looking at hotels for our honeymoon in september, I know it is not time for the best deals yet but want to book something as a 'back up'. Those of you who have stayed at any of these, which would you book at these prices?

    Aria - £123 per night
    Bellagio - £135pn
    Encore - £150pn
    Wynn - £145pn
    Palazzo - £150pn

Quite like the look of the Encore but we are total Vegas first-timers so have no clue what to go for, splahing out a bit more than usual saying as it's our honeymoon.

you won't be upset with any of them . no hotel is going to tick every box , so don't fret too much getting it perfect .

Wynn or Encore would be my choice and Bellagio a close 2nd .

nothing to lose in booking all three if they are refundable
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Can I just ask why Mandalays pool is over rated? It looks very nice to me.

    What is MGM's pool like?

Also we have never flown on any indirect flights so am unsure how things work so excuse the silly questions but if we flew to chicago and then onto LA and there was around 3 hours difference from arrving in Chicago to departing will this be enough time to get through customs etc?

Some of our group who are going to Vegas next month want to go and see Cirque Du Soleil - O at the Bellagio

Through a 25% booking code available through the "o" website, the cheapest tickets I can see are for around $131 each (including the booking fees) - Category 1 tickets these are...I think I can get cheaper - this price is through?)

Can I ask is it realistic to expect this to be the cheapest I can get. Any point in holding off from waiting until we get to Vegas hoping for offers sometime?

Date we want to see the show are 24th February

The group aren't bothered about the price. More out of hope than expectation, I'm not sure if a better deal can be sought out when we get to vegas?

    Thanks!

Tickets for O are rarely found at discount booths, if you have a 25% off code now I would book, the shows normally sell out, if you wait till you get to Vegas you are more likely to have to stand in line for returns, and pay full price

IMO MB pool isnt overated. It may depend if you are taking kids though, they will love the wave pool and could spend hours "surfing" the waves. The beds are all on sand, there is also a lazy river.

MGM is also a great pool again with a lazy river that takes ages to get round as it is so long

Both of the above pools are in my top 3 with Flamingo the other one.

They all offer a fun time where as many pools are just for relaxing and posing (there is a lot of that)

Depends on what you want from a pool

3 hours is loads of time for the connection

Plenty of time-it has never taken me more than 45 minutes to get through customs and immigration at Chicago.

It's very straightforward-you go through immigration first -then pick up your bags from the luggage carousel -walk through customs handing over the customs form they will give you on the plane -directly after you've walked through there is a luggage drop area (your bags will already have been tagged through to LAX at Heathrow) you just drop your bags off-no need to stand in line.......and head off into the terminal for your next flight.

If your transatlantic flight is badly delayed and you do miss the internal flight as you are on a through ticket the airline will just book you on the next one.

    Hi All

Just wanted to ask if £500 for 2 rooms (3 adults 2 children) 28th July for 7 nights at Orleans was a good price. Its with expedia, seemed good to me.....

I believe Duchy likes this hotel so any other tips/advice regarding Orleans would be appreciated.

    thanks

I love the Orleans, stayed there 3 times. It is a couple of miles off the strip although it does have a shuttle, We always have a car so it doesnt bother us. Has a bowling alley and a cinema on site and the Orleans arena where the Wranglers play(ice hockey)

That works out to about £35 a night or $50ish, It must include a weekend so looks good to me (fri and sat are always more expensive). Are you happy with the price?

There is a $5 a night resort fee to pay on top for each room, but the last twice I have stayed there I wasnt charged it.

I have always payed less than that to stay there (comped last time) and you may find it cheaper by signing up to their mailing list, have you looked on the Orleans website and checked the price? Any offers are unlikely to be available yet for july though.

On reflection I dont think you will find it much cheaper so if thats were you want to stay I would prob book it

    Dont forget Quidco
