. no magic formula as to when to absolute rock bottom price will appear , but follow the advice in post 1 .

book something reasonably priced that is refundable , then keep tabs on the hotel offers listed in post 1 . 12 weeks out is when people often find good deals , but it may be earlier , or very near to when you go .

best bet is check deals links every week up to 12 weeks out then check as often as you can from there .

(but stay in the palazzo bit as they are the sme price but its soo much nicer...)

I'm looking out for the Venetian/Palazzo/Encore for end of March. Not finding much in way of offers yet. Current rate I've booked is $229 per night...... Sometimes offers can come out early though, so I'd still keep looking around for June dates :)

Looking at hotels for our honeymoon in september, I know it is not time for the best deals yet but want to book something as a 'back up'. Those of you who have stayed at any of these, which would you book at these prices?

    Aria - £123 per night
    Bellagio - £135pn
    Encore - £150pn
    Wynn - £145pn
    Palazzo - £150pn

Quite like the look of the Encore but we are total Vegas first-timers so have no clue what to go for, splahing out a bit more than usual saying as it's our honeymoon.

Are those weekend or midweek rates? Are they all "bottom of the range" room types?

All those should be available at the same number, but in dollars rather than in pounds.

thanks totallybored for the round up for the Mandarin Oriental....

Ironically, hubby looked at it with me the night I posted here and decided that the living area in Venetian would be too much of a loss, as we plan on a quiet first few days, so will use the room space a bit more. Maybe with a great offer, he'd re-consider, but for now it's the Venetian (or Palazzo). Encore is cheaper for my dates, and I've stayed there, but found the Encore just a bit to far from where I want to be....

ps - toothfair - Encore rooms are fab, and great for a honeymoon.

Thanks Froggitt, I did stumble across that offer too, but thanks again for posting. It's about $30 more over 5 nights - lol.
26th March is our first night and the end of the massive 140k? convention so rates are a bit daft everywhere. We're there for 10 nights so looking for our first 5 in Venetian or Palazzo......

That's the average per night for Wednesday-Saturday (4 nights). Do you mean nearer to the time when rates come down?

Yes. Those rates in dollars should be easily achievable nearer the time. At those prices.......Wynn for me.

Thanks guys, think we will hold out for a while longer. How is wynn/encore in terms of location? Few people on tripadvisor saying it is quite far to walk to the centre of the strip.

Yes it is. But then you can spend an evening easily at Wynn/Encore without having to venture out. After that spread your wings and just either get a cab or one of the buses that trawl the strip to get "further in". In our opinion the Wynn/Encore pools are the best in Vegas (you can use both if staying in either) and yes that includes Mandalay Bay pool (overrated).
Just one point that many on here will understand. If you stay at Encore you are no more than 1 minute walk from The Peppermill (you have been warned) and that alone makes it worth staying at!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
