I'm curious as to why VA use an old plane for the Vegas route ? as its not like they fly empty planes on that route! I would have thought it would be a glitzy plane, given the cost of it! :(

Because it is a bucket and spade route, and airlines make most of their money from premium business passengers. That is why the Gatwick fleet only have 14 Upper suites and the Heathrow ones have 64!!

These same planes are also used for Orlando - flights full of kids jumping all over the seats - would you put your glitziest planes on that route? I wouldn't!

The plane that has seen most action on the LGW-LAS route over the last 3 months was manufactured and enterded service in 2001, the plane that has seen most action on the LHR-SFO route over the last 3 months was manufactured and enterded service in 2002.

The Vegas plane just seems old, especially as it came witha crap IFE system.

As froggit says book the platinum package with a full tank, additional driver and nothing else to pay (return car empty)

Do we buy this package at collection point? Can't seem to find anywhere on the website to add it as it just goes straight to the booking stage.
:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin

But the planes based at LHR have all been upgraded internally. So the may only be a little younger, but they are a whole world of difference comfort wise.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    premium includes extra driver

    premium include sat nav etc

are you sure about that... i thought that was incredibly rude, going up and helping yourself. typical of 'Brits abroad'. it was never announced that you could do this. people were just taking away armfuls of drinks for themselves and then they ran out. I'm pretty sure the cabin crew were tutting about it, but couldn't be !!!!!d to deal with it as it probably wasn't worth the hassle.

Yep positive, the only time we saw crew was to refill the juice jug and put a few more cans out, to be fair nobody was caning it, the overnight flight back was the same, we were in row 64 both times and it was all pretty laid back.
