    Hi folks,

I'm off to Vegas in a couple of weeks and I'm away when the CL quarter finals are on. Being a huge footy lover (that means I like footy a lot, not that I'm huge! Though I will be when I come back...:D), I'd like some recommendations on places to watch (real) football.

We'll be in the Orleans when the matches take place. (And yep, their buffet is good value but I missed the ribs!!) Can anyone suggest a place? We have watched football in the ESPN zone but that's a bit more geared to American sports, and food.

    Cheers!
i didnt mind the sportsbook at mgm grand, although not sure if drinks are free, but casino floor is only next door

Thanks folks. What's the atmosphere like in Sportsbooks for watching football? Always struck me that it's mostly gamblers/locals that frequent Sportsbooks? I'l have a look at those pubs thanks pebblesmax.

I just got back on tues morning, and watched the barca v arsenal game on a big screen in caesars palace sportsbook area (had to ask) but this was without commentary.
Theres also a british style pub called the crown and anchor just off the strip (5mins in a cab) which shows loads of games, internationals, champs league, europa league, prem league and fa cup.

From what we have seen the rates will be worse than you can get here.

You can change £ and € at the cage, but we were uncertain whether we were getting a decent rate.

We decided on Wynn and we told them how much we wanted to change, the cashier went away for a few minutes and came back with the $/€ rate written on a piece of paper. She asked if we would accept it, and we went ahead and did the exchange. They wouldn't change anything bigger than €50 notes in at Wynn.

The next time, I checked the rate online before we went to get the cash changed. It was pretty good from what I remember. Not better than we could have got here though.

I got a really good rate at one of the Harrah's Strip hotels-later in the day at another I got a lousy rate-so it seems to be check every time you change and don't assume anything

    Hello all

Just found this forum, have already booked for Vegas and arriving on 11 June 2011. Staying off strip slightly at the Carraige House near Planet Hollywood i believe, has anyone stayed there before, any comments or photos.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

A few on here have stayed there, gets the thumbs up. We are there for the first time in May and I take my hotel choice very seriously
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We have stayed there several times and really like it. What type of room have you booked? We always book a one bedroom suite as we like the extra space. The rooms are not modern and could do with an upgrade, but they have new flat screen TV's. Even the deluxe bedrooms have a kitchenette.

They have a small pool which never seems to get busy so there are usually loungers available.

5 minute walk to the back door of the Miracle Mile and just a few mins more to the strip.
