Hey, just wondering where's the best place to book hotels in Las Vegas? Am I best to do it through the hotel's own website, or do I book it through somewhere like expedia? Flights are now booked so hotels are my next booking, so excited!

Thanks for all the advice. Searching sites the best deals i can find are

    Flamingo 4nights Aug $394 ?£245 approx
    Cosmopoliton 2nights £245
Chancellors hotel san francisco 5 nights £621 or
    Holiday Inn express £724
Would really like a better deal with the san francisco hotels, anyone any ideas.
Review of Chancellor hotel seem ok but expedia etc have no availability!

stayed at the Chamcellors Hotel a couple of years ago and would reccommend. The staff were really helpful, loads of good resturant reccommendations. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is very good and we found it easy to use as a base.

That makes it more expensive then. hotels in Vegas are always more expensive on fri and sat but you could always book it, then keep an eye on prices and adjust it if it comes down

It is fully refundable and will only cost you 1 nights deposit when booking

Using the Holiday Inn Friends and Family link mentioned previously, you can get the HI Express Fishermans Wharf for about £650 inc taxes if I've worked out your dates right (11-15th August?). I wouldn't book at that price though, think there are probably better deals to be had and the F&F rate is not refundable.

I made a mistake before, we booked the HI on Hotwire not Priceline, was getting my hotels mixed up - might be worth a look on there also to see what comes up. Usually it's better for hotels booked closer to the time but I know we happened to book that particular one really early (around Feb for a September stay) so good deals can be had on occasion even months out.

San Francisco is an expensive city so you do have to look closely for decent deals but they are out there!

Ok as promised here is my trip report, sorry if I've waffled on a bit in some places.

Plant Hollywood Hotel and Casino 27th Feb til 3rd March.

Thank you for the trip report, enjoyed reading it :)

We also seem to get lucky on the slots just before we leave, I think they sense when you're leaving and its just to make you book to go again!:D

I think you may be right there bubble113, it's happened to me on a few occasions on the last day, not that I need much of an excuse to book again:)

Thanks to everybody who has thanked me for the trip report, I'm glad some of you enjoyed it:beer:
