They did have a bank of Star Wars machines in that area by the lion habitat last year when we were there but from what I remember they were different to these and had a big plastic R2D2 on top kinda like this

Those are the speeder bike bonus ones mentioned...you can see on the lower left corner that the bonus reset at $2 I think, which is normal...we saw it once when it reset at $51.50 I think...you have to get an entry (5 symbols with Stormtroopers on them) and then when the bonus triggers everyone that has qualified plays for that amount (if you are the only one who qualifies you'll win it which my husband did when we jumped on them at $51.50)...whoever wins that bonus goes on to play for the higher progressives.

It's generally a hoover, but if you do see the bonus reset at a high amount it can be worth jumping on..we normally make a detour by them if we see them and check what the bonus is at. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ok you are going to have to explain all of that in ENGLISH to me next week!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Anyone seen the movies 21 and the original The Last Casino ?
    ,
they are about the MIT college team counting cards at blackjack ,

i've just ordered professional blackjack by Stanford Wong from Ebay and Modern Blackjack second edition by [FONT=verdana,arial,helvetica][SIZE=-1]Norm Wattenberger from Amazon , two of the best blackjack books as recommended by those who do count ie professionals ,

i've only just mastered basic strategy using a strategy card which gives the house an edge of 0.44% with a bit of counting am gonna beat the house advantage and put the odds in my favour ..

Anyone a professional and got some good advice ?

I swore I will never stay at MGM again but am tempted by this offer.

I dont quite understand if the buffet pass is for every day, or for one day per stay, what do others think

I can't work that out either. I'm thinking if it says "per stay" that it's one set of buffet passes. Might be worth a call to check out.

Another thing I didn't notice at first read is that it seems to be for a 2 night maximum stay.

Read the book called Bringing Down the House by Ben Mizrahi.....its better than the movie.

Heres some advice on card counting......if you win youll likely end up with no knees. But you wont win.....counting on a 6 or 8 deck automatic shuffler is nigh on impossible, and even if it were, there are only going to be once a week occurances of a significantly favourable deck.

And if you go to a single deck shuffler, the house odds are more like 3% as it only pays 6/5 on a BJ.

Forget about the movies, 21 was so dumbed down that they never showed even the outline of what the 'crew' was actually doing.

I'm not an big BJ player but do know basic strategy. A single strategy chart is fine if you only ever play the form of BJ that it applies to.

I don't have access to my files at home until probably tomorrow morning. I'll post a couple of sites one has a good simulator that allows you to set the game to individual house rules, I'll also post site details that will give you what games are being played in each casino. You can also print out different strategy tables.

By the way, most casinos allow you to sit down with a strategy table in your hand.

Pete a friend of mine who plays only BJ out there uses a progressive system of betting where he puts his base stake down and if he wins he takes 1/2 the win back into his stack. So he is now playing 1 1/2 his base stake on his next hand. If he wins he takes 1/2 that win back into his stack and is showing a 1/4 unit profit in his stack and his bet is now 2 1/4 units. If he loses at any time he goes back to his base unit.

That helps him to keep turning over whilst waiting for the advantage hands, where you get to put extra bets in on splitting and doubling down etc.

This sort of system is second nature for him and he can play it sober or drunk. I've seen him win several thousand dollars in a session but also lose the same, he is a +EV player but the variation can be crippling if you are not deep enough.

Agree with above 2 posts. film 21 is dumbed down version of Bringing Down the House by Ben Mezrich , who also wrote the book the film The Social Network is based on

yes back then ( 90's) they made off with a lot of the Casino's money by devising a system that involved working in teams of at least 3 . BBC 2 also did a great program on this as well .

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/horizon/million_prog_summary.shtml

The Casinos know how they did it , and know how to stop it .

on your own counting cards is pretty much futile now. take a basic strategy card and the casino will only have around a 1% advantage over you .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
