Got hubby and mum to vote for you too. :o Nice to see someone on the board win! I'm tempted by the tour myself. Do you know if they ever offer a sale or money off?

Signature deal here, however beware http://www.mgmgrand.com/offers/2011/02_signature_stay_longer_2_22/landing.html

the small print says "Food and drink credit valid only at Signature outlets". From memory, all there is there is a Starbucks and a bar.

Even last year, when it was valid at MGM restaurants, it was restricted to MGM owned restaurants only, ie excluded the nice ones.

I booked a trip for August direct with the website in January, they were offering 30% off pp then a few weeks later saw the groupon for $125 for two people so was a liitle miffed. However we are a group of 8 so would have been a bit of hassle buying 1 groupon per couple and not necessarily guaranteed same day tour so got over it!

Maybe keep an eye on website for further offers.

Price flights on www.netflights.com or www.opodo.com or you can get daily alerts if you sign up to www.kayak.co.uk

We always fly from Aberdeen. We have gone via LHR then non-stop to Vegas with BA. We used to go via MAN with BMI until the pulled the route.

We have also gone with American Airlines and United Airlines via LHR and a stop in the US at Chicago or Los Angeles. We prefer to LA even though it is an 11 hour flight as it is then only 45 mins to Vegas rather than almost 4 hours from Chicago.

We have also been with KLM via Amsterdam and Minneapolis.

Which airline and hotel were you quoted for £800?

You must've been several times!! That price was by booking things seperately and using travel supermarket to check hotel deals. I think the hotel was the sahara?
How much would you say it costs you on aberage for your flights/hotel? The less flying time the better, have also thought of maybe going to London the day before and flying direct from there with Virgin.

    You're a true star! :)

It isn't often they do 'sales' or anything like that but every now and again they will do the LAs Vegas groupon, we took advantage of the offer last year and instead of $250 for the 2 of us it was $125 so half price. Maybe worth signing up if you haven't already with Las Vegas groupon and see if one pops up before you go.

It's a half day tour but the guys are so nice! Even at $250 I think it's a great tour.

How long are you going for this year? I'm a little sad that I have to wait till next year before I go back. I always wondered why people went back every year, I always thought it was a place I would go back to just once. I now see why everyone loves it!

  • I take it from lack of replies that no one has flown on US Airways before? I guess we'll just book it anyway seeing as it's the cheapest & hope for the best , was just after experiences of the aircraft, food, IFE, service etc :)

    Hey Cloudnines,

We flew with US Airways last year, I have to say I can't fault them at all!

We flew from Manchester to Philli and then caught a connection to Las Vegas. The Manchester to Philli flight was great, seat back TV's a decent amount of room and the staff were all friendly and food was suprisingly good. Selected drinks were free on this too which was great as the last thing I wanted to do was pay ridiculous prices just to stay hydrated!

Philli to Las Vegas was a bog standard flight, as most internal flights you had no food and you had to pay for drinks. This wasn't a biggy as we had stuffed ourselves in Philli airport whilst waiting for our connection.

Everything with them went smoothly. I would however, make sure if you do choose a flight with a connection that you make sure you have plenty of time. Due to freak storms in Philli we had to be put in a holding pattern for about 30 mins, que for immigration and then collecting bags would have meant if we didn't take the 3 hour wait we would have been rushing to get our second flight (If getting on it at all) The extra couple of hours is a small price to pay!!

    xx

Flew with them a couple of times internally (not through choice) and once to Bahamas (again not through choice, competition win) and I would not fly with them long haul again, service on board was appalling, food was cold and miserable, drinks and media selection stuck in the 1980's somewhere. Sorry really hope your experience is far better than mine has ever been.
  • Flew US Airways Gatwick to Philly Business class about 4 years ago. Worst plane Ive ever been on, and probably the oldest too. Everyting about it was awful. If Business Class was this bad I dread to think what it was like in economy. This flight made Virgins LGW 747's seem like concorde. I would choose Virgin Economy to over US Airways Business every time.

The inflight entertainment was a large screen at the front of the cabin with a projector running the video. Seats were ripped, uncomfortable and looked like they were installed in the 60s.

    Venetian is excellent.

I agree. I've stayed at Bellagio, Caesars & Encore and Venetian remains my favourite of the list. :D
