cheers for the heads up :j this one I presume?:

Steve 'The Celtic Warrior' Collins is taken to Las Vegas by Freddie to face a series of challenges including a drag race in front of 25,000 people.

    ITV 4:
    Sat 19/2 - 9pm
    Sun 20/2 - 11:25pm
    Mon 21/2 - 8pm

That's the one...tbh it's been a nightmare week and I haven't read the whole thread..just assumed someone had already posted about it being on.

It was great...we watched it in HD and it made us VERY excited about our trip. I know who Freddie is, I did not really know anything else about him...but he came off as a pretty cool guy I think.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

When you use vouchers for restaurant.com....well for example for Sergios it's a $25 voucher with $35 minimum spend. For 2 of us, 2 pastas and a shared starter is about $25. Can we spend the other $10 on drinks to get up to $35, or are drinks excluded?

Also, how long are the vouchers valid? I assume they're printable for us UK folks to be able to do this easily?

I believe that each voucher has different terms so you'd need to check the website as some may exclude drinks, some may exclude happy hours etc etc. The vouchers don't have an expiry date (although did have previously), and yes, you just print them off to use them. :)
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

My otherhalf has been talking to a wedding shop (she just bought her dress today), and the lady in the shop said that when she got married in vegas a few years back, she asked about getting the wedding dress on the plane without folding it up as such....
This woman told my missis that her dress was put in the cockpit as there was space to hang it up in there...
Lady also said the bigger airlines sometimes do this for passengers ????
Could that be true, is it worth me ringing Virgin (i get the feeling they would tell me where to go!)

    from Virgin Atlantic website
Q How should I take a wedding dress on my flight?

A If possible your garments should be packed into a seperate suitcase and marked 'Fragile Wedding Garments'. This will be placed in the hold in the aircraft. Alternatively, your garments can be taken into the cabin as long as they are packed into your hand luggage and fit into the specified weight and dimension requirements. We are unable to hang wedding garments in the Economy and Premium Economy cabins due to the CAA regulations

If you are flying Upper Class, they usually put them in the wardrobe there, depending on how much space available of course

There are companies that sell wedding dress travel boxes with dimensions that fit airline hand luggage size.

What's the best way to fly fromscotland, preferably Aberdeen, to Vegas? Don't mind stopping overnight somewhere. Also how much would be reasonable for 2 of us to pay for 4 or 5 nights in a hotel on the strip where we can venture out at night. I think the quotes we've had so far is about £800 per person.

Price flights on https://www.netflights.com or https://www.opodo.com or you can get daily alerts if you sign up to https://www.kayak.co.uk

We always fly from Aberdeen. We have gone via LHR then non-stop to Vegas with BA. We used to go via MAN with BMI until the pulled the route.

We have also gone with American Airlines and United Airlines via LHR and a stop in the US at Chicago or Los Angeles. We prefer to LA even though it is an 11 hour flight as it is then only 45 mins to Vegas rather than almost 4 hours from Chicago.

We have also been with KLM via Amsterdam and Minneapolis.

Which airline and hotel were you quoted for £800?

from the quickrooms chat a few pages back had a look and they are cheapest for the cosmo for my dates. had a look at their FAQ's. Can anyone explain to me what the bit in bold means?

    Q. How is my booking protected?
    A. QuickRooms.com s a trading name of Personalised Travel Services a company registered in England under (Company registration number 03857127) Glendale House, Glendale Business Park, Sandycroft, Nr Chester, CH5 2DL. ATOL 3973.
QuickRooms.com contracts approximately 4000 direct contracts and in addition provides a further 50,000 accommodation units from ten other leading accommodation providers. Our search facility is impartial which ultimately means we always provide you with the best prices around. Testament to this is the fact that over 400,000 customers have now benefited from our great prices and traveled with QuickRooms.com. Your money is also secure as we only pay accommodation suppliers and hoteliers following your departure, therefore you have protection from booking right through to traveling with us.

Does it mean I wouldn't be able to confirm my booking with the cosmo directly until i got there?

I have booked the Cosmopolitan with Quickrooms. I called the hotel the day after I booked, but they had no record of it so I emailed Quickrooms. They have been excellent at emailing back with information. I also called them and the phone was answered immediately by a human being without going through any annoying menus.

The hotels normally don't get the guests names until approx 2 week before arrival. However the lady I have been dealing with has given me a reference number to quote, then she emailed again to say that she had asked the supplier they are using to release the names in the next week.

Although it is the first time I have used Quickrooms, I have read about them on the internet for years.

Sorry to hijack the thread again guys but just thought I would update you all with my work around to this saga.

We have since placed a reservation with booking.com for the exact same package as the one on tigerhotels. The package was £250 more expensive but we have got them to price match the tigerhotels price and I have just had confirmation that they will honor the price match. :T

Thanks again for all your help guys, I'm sure this wont be the last time I ask cap in hand for your collective pearls of wisdom.

@Duchy, I will post a trip report when we get back, you only have to wait 8 months for it :rotfl:

I have used booking.com before with no problems. One thing I liked is that their cancellation policy was the same as that of the hotel, ie cancel more than 72 hours before arrival with no penalty.

    Hi
Just quick question, do prices on Quickrooms include US sales tax?

Yes they do. Now if you were asking it the price included any resort fee than that would be another question. You would need to call or email them on that one.

Sergio's r.com cert doesn't say that it excludes alcohol and that usually means that it does include it. Stripburger includes alcohol.

If this is your first time using r.com, you can sign up with your hotel address as you need a zip code. I use my own address and 89109. Also I would recommend paying by PayPal. If you use a credit card there may be a problem with the address you use not matching that of the credit card.

You print off the certs, nothing is mailed to you, and they no longer expire.

It might not be extreme enough for you, but the Bootleg Canyon Flight LInes might be interesting...something different, anyway.

    http://www.bcflightlines.com/

It was featured on Freddie Flintoff vs The World this week too...may be able to find the episode repeated or somewhere on line.

You can sometimes find discounts about.

That looks seriously up my street! Sky plus all set to watch Freddie doing it and to persuade my girlfriend! Or not!

    Seen any discounts of late??
