Does anybody have experience of flying direct from manchester with Thomascook or with US Airways via Philadelphia?
These are my two cheapest options but if need be I will spend more for better in flight entertainment or more legroom as im a nervous flyer and want the flight to pass as smoothly as possible. If i go with US airways will the internal flight have in flight entertainment or will it be like an internal UK flight?
Its working out about £1400 for two for these flights but would spend an extra few hundred if required. BA prices have shot up by about £500 in the past 2 weeks from heathrow so that rules them out and i have ruled out the Virgin gatwick flight over all the bad stories iv read!
yeah flew with them in 2007 . no problems. IFE is a bit 80's ( i.e one huge screen at the front) , but thats a minor quibble IMO .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

SeptemberWe've flown with US Airways a number of times. We now only have 2 one stop options from Glasgow - so it's that or Continental via Newark which tends to be pricey. I guess they can sell Glasgow to New York seats quite easily so it might be pushing the price up. Newark isn't the easiest to pass through either. We're quite used to Philadelphia airport now.
IFE is variable dependant on which plane they use. It's hit and miss. They do have some planes with individual screens, but it just depends what plane you get really. They are ok for legroom.
We used to usually fly AA before they stopped flying from Glasgow. Shame they've gone, I think their legroom was slightly better, although it is fine on US. Definitely good compared to Thomas Cook charter planes etc!0 -

I've finally booked. Was about 655 pounds for return (indirect) flights from London - Vegas, and 7 nights at the Tropicana from June 9th - June 16th. Then 36 quid cashback from Quidco (which has already validated!). So 619 altogether, not bad?0
