I did the same for our Rio booking, but there was no difference in the total.

    Hello everyone

I've been reading this thread for a while so thought i'd say hi :j

We're off to Las Vegas for our second trip in April but this time we're taking our children who are 8 and 5

Flying with Delta via Minneapolis outward and via New York on our return

Booked into the Excalibur for two nights and seeing Tournament of Kings and then we're off to the Grand Canyon for one night. Booked the lodge but still need to hire a car.

We also have tickets for Mystere which i'm really looking forward to. I still haven't decided on a hotel for the other 4 nights - Flamingo, Luxor and Desert Rose are in my mind for the moment. We stayed at MGM and Bellagio last time so would like to try different hotels this time round, looks like lots of deals to be had everywhere though.

I have a great big list of things to do and places to go with our girls.

Thankyou for all the great advice i've been reading and all the great links. I read this forum two years ago when we went last time.

I was already happy with the rate. I booked it on 31 October and a rate of $40 came up so I booked it. Checked immediately after and it was up to $65 and has remained at $65 every time I've checked.

    I've now got $36 x 2 and $27 x 2.
  • We've pretty much sorted our plans for the return to Vegas in June.

Fly out on June 15th on a BA 747 and head straight to Downtown for 4 nights at the Golden Nugget in a Rush Tower room. From there we are off to the Flamingo for 5 nights in a Go Deluxe Room. We then spend the weekend at Planet Hollywood for 3 nights before working our way further south for 5 nights at NYNY before flying home on July 2nd. For the 17 nights we have booked the total cost on the current deals works out a little under $1300 for the entire stay. As this is our third time back in 3 years, and we are there for quite a long stay we are trying to balance cost/quality of rooms as well as staying at places we havent been to before. Previously stayed at MGM properties but really put off with the resort fees now.

Pretty much sussed the basic strategy for VP so really gonna give that a go this year. Basic strategy for Blackjack is coming along nicely too, Plus this time I am finally gonna get to play some poker having never got round to it on the previous 2 trips.

Does anybody have experience of flying direct from manchester with Thomascook or with US Airways via Philadelphia?

These are my two cheapest options but if need be I will spend more for better in flight entertainment or more legroom as im a nervous flyer and want the flight to pass as smoothly as possible. If i go with US airways will the internal flight have in flight entertainment or will it be like an internal UK flight?

Its working out about £1400 for two for these flights but would spend an extra few hundred if required. BA prices have shot up by about £500 in the past 2 weeks from heathrow so that rules them out and i have ruled out the Virgin gatwick flight over all the bad stories iv read!

The internal US flights are on smaller planes with no free drinks, food etc, and I think no IFE. Are there any other change options other than Philly which would give you longer on the transatlantic leg and less time on the internal? Is it US Airways who have a hub in Salt Lake City, Utah or am I thinking of another carrier?

No idea about TC, I didn't even know they flew direct to Vegas!

Have you checked Virgin from Manchester for direct flights - I think they're starting the route in April...no idea if it'll be better than the Gatwick flight as it's still going to Vegas, and I've found Virgin flight prices shocking this year, but worth a look.

Yeah but the dates are not suitable as its is my honeymoon and my dates are restricted.

When i do the search pn the us airways site its only the Philly option that comes up.

Wish i had booked BA a few weeks ago now:mad:

I assume the airlines wont be having any sales soon?

Im flying the manchester/philly route in August - hope its alright...

I flew the thomascook direct 2 years ago - but in the premium section which they have now stopped i believe - but my understanding is this was to make all the leg rooms etc slightly bigger.

Have a look on skyscanner - plenty of other connections from manchester - off the top of my head theres a chicago change, when searching i found NY changes etc - loads of options.
